Position Description:
 
The Mechanical Design Engineer at NDBS is involved in all aspects of the HVAC design / build process. From project conception through the details of design and field coordination, you will work with our staff of experts sharing and gaining practical knowledge and experience unmatched in this industry. This position is responsible for delivering project design assignments within time and budget parameters while satisfying
client contracts either through a team of engineers or individually.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related Engineering field
  • Minimum 10 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer, specifically in HVAC design
  • Related experience in the HVACR industry
  • Self-motivated with excellent time and task management skills
  • Ability to work within an environment with deadlines while having to multi-task with changing priorities
  • Ability to interact effectively with others in a team environment
  • Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Experience in Healthcare Design a plus

  • Design and Technical:
    • Perform load calculations for projects.
    • Design and plan layouts of equipment, duct and piping systems.
    • Drive the development of HVAC design from the initial concept through construction drawings utilizing Revit.
    • Application engineering including but not limited to Sequence of Operations, load calculations, psychometrics, and refrigeration
    • Engages in several levels of field engineering, assisting with project execution, trade coordination, and document management.
    • Understand code requirements
  • Project Execution 
    • Perform internal turnover meetings to identify project scope, risks, resource requirements, communications, schedule, and budgets.
    • Collaborate with preconstruction department to ensure project bid scope is developed into design documents.
    • Collaborate with operations department to ensure a shared understanding of project scope and overall project execution.
    • Drive quality control through on site project visits and punch list creation.
