As a Packing Operator you will help run the business through execution of packaging line activities in secondary manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for adhering to GMPs, approved SOPs, quality procedures, safety and environmental standards while operating within the profit plan.

This is a 2nd shift position with the hours of Monday through Friday, 2 PM until 10:30 PM.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Operations of automated packaging equipment such as labelers, cartoners and case packers in addition to the associated printing and inspection systems

  • Identify equipment issues, communicate and interact with senior operator and maintenance personnel when repair is necessary

  • Manual packaging operations such as: Loading of packaging materials onto the equipment; Hand packing into shipping boxes and hand palletizing; and Cleaning of the equipment

  • Record data to support metrics around equipment downtime and production line output

  • Perform day to day packaging line activities such as: - Perform line clearance activities - Inspection and re-processing of ejects - Complete batch record documentation - Assure that appropriate housekeeping of the packaging area is maintained

  • Recognize and report deviations or potential quality issues immediately

  • Perform all job responsibilities in compliance with the GSK safety procedures and all applicable EHS regulations, standard operating procedures, and industry practices

  • Maintain full compliance with all assigned learning plans

  • Operate packaging equipment to achieve standard efficiency while striving to identify improvements to current practices or procedures

  • Actively work with a continuous improvement mindset to challenge and implement how thing can be done differently and better

  • Assist in developing operations strategies to optimize processes and production

  • Promote and maintain teamwork and open communication with fellow teammates

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • 1 year or more in manufacturing / production line operations (preferably packaging), or regulated industry

  • Experience with reading, understanding, following and complying with technical and written documents (SOPs) in English

  • Experience with performing calculations using simple mathematical formulas and a calculator includes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

  • Experience with recognizing quality issues and communicate

  • Experience with working while wearing PPE for all GMP areas for an entire shift. (Includes safety shoes, glasses and hair\beard covers)

  • Some basic computer skills required

  • Physical requirements include pushing, pulling stooping, standing, climbing, twisting and lifting up to 50lbs. This includes the use of a manual hand jack
