About the team and the role:

eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 1, Software Engineer in San Jose, CA 

What you will accomplish: 

Job Duties: Analyze software product requirements and transform them into scalable technical designs by collaborating with Technical Leads and Product Managers. Design new modules using Python and OOP design patterns within the existing and new platforms that meet the design requirements for proper user accessibility. Develop features to enhance SEO performance like robots.txt, sitemaps.xml, and metadata, as well as new and leading CDN edge computing projects. Work collaboratively to implement innovative software products and solutions that meet market needs regarding functionality, performance, availability, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to software development goals and principles. Develop high-quality Java applications that integrate with backend systems. Create automated tests and deliver high-quality software code to production within a short development cycle in the continuous integration and delivery environment. Design and implement engaging, responsive frontend components using modern JavaScript frameworks. Drive architecture discussions, produce well-documented design docs, and participate in design and code reviews. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

What you will bring:

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements: 

1. Software development in the Java J2EE platform (5 years)

2. Designing, building, and testing high scalable applications (5 years)

3. Java and related technologies including Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and cloud-related technologies such as Azure and/or Kubernetes (5 years)

4. Front-end technologies: JavaScript, HTML and XML (5 years)

5. Writing RESTful and GraphQL APIs (5 years)

6. Writing Automated testsg using JUnit, Mockito, Wiremock, Cucumber (5 years)

7. Working with SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres, Azure SQL Server, MongoDB (5 years)

8. Object-oriented principles and algorithms, including database analysis and design (5 years)

9. Agile methodologies such as Scrum, sprint/release planning (5 years)

10. CI/CD Jenkins and build process (5 years)

11. Enterprise integration tools and infrastructure messaging technologies like Kafka (5 years)

12. Event-Driven Architecture and Microservices (5 years)

13. Modernization of legacy systems (5 years)

Salary: $169,262-222,100.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional Details

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
