Financial Controller, TPF, ​fixed term: 18-month contract

Key responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the reporting of financial results for the entities they are responsible for, with commentary including P&L, Balance Sheet which is accurate complete and fully compliant with all relevant accounting standards.

  • Manage all aspects of the financial month end review process, facilitating month end meetings, maintaining risk register & co-ordinating with all internal and external partners.

  • Participate & contribute into business review meetings as appropriate

  • Ensure business complies with all aspects of the internal / external financial control environment, including published accounting papers and policies

  • Supporting preparation of statutory accounts and prepare audit deliverables as required Responsible for the inputs to the external and internal financial audits

  • Engage with key finance and non-finance stakeholders as required and manage these relationships

  • Supervising and driving performance in BPO partner deliverables for a given scope: General Ledger, Period End Close and Balance Sheet Reconciliation activities

  • Support recruitment of staff at the required caliber / skills & experience

  • Additional activities as required by the FD and FCM

  • Manages a team of Senior Reporting Specialists and Reporting Specialists, - always in line with GSK Values and Expectations, drive individual and team performance, fostering engagement and motivation in the team, ensure adequate individual development and strong succession plan.

Requirements:

  • Accounting degree / qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)

  • Extensive post qualification experience

  • Experience in financial reporting, Control/SOX environment

  • Experience in financial department in an international environment

  • Proficient in MS Excel

  • Fluent English

  • Experience in managing people

  • Enjoy permanent changes and demonstrate great agility and resilience

  • Calm under pressure and able to manage competing demands

  • Credible and comfortable working with senior management

  • Able to see the big picture and think beyond immediate area of responsibility

  • Strong focus on customer service

  • Outside of the box thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and organization skills

  • Developed analytical skills

Preferred experience:

  • SAP experience will be a strong asset

  • Previous experience in Statutory Accounting

  • Familiarity and experience in supply chain finance or similar

  • Extensive post qualification experience, preferably within a similar operating model and the same sector
