Job Summary

Flagship is seeking a stellar Payroll Specialist to join a fast paced, tight knit team!

Our Payroll Specialist will compile and record employee time and payroll data. May compute employees' time worked, production and commissions. May compute and post wages and deductions or prepare paychecks.

Essential Functions

  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Manage work flow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Perform daily payroll department operations
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Execute time sheets and attendance processing and interface with payroll
  • Perform compliance for unclaimed property payroll checks
  • Process manual check and relocation metrics
  • Research and email appropriate audience of file issues
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary
  • Resolve payroll issues via ticketing system (ServiceNow)

Knowledge and Skills

  • Workday payroll processing experience is required (2+ years)
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
  • Union knowledgeable
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 5 years of experience in multi state payroll


Work Environment

  • Small-to-large office environment
  • Fast paced office environment
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments

hear or smell. Physical requirements include stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting of a minimum of 40
lbs. of equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
