About you and this role

Dow has an opportunity for a Business Communications Manager in Dow’s Coatings & Performance Monomers (C&PM) business. The preferred location for this position is Collegeville, PA or Midland, MI (other locations within the U.S. may be considered).

You will be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies in alignment with C&PM business and market strategies in North America. You will collaborate closely with multiple functions and business stakeholders to develop integrated promotion plans and deploy marketing communications strategies that deliver key marketing content/stories through multiple channels including digital and social media, trade media relations, paid media, literature production, video production, traditional direct communications, trade shows and experiential events. You will also lead communications efforts and strategic counsel for commercial and/or business leaders, developing and implementing messaging for geographic and/or business unit strategy.

This position is part of the Dow Coatings & Performance Monomers Marketing Communications Team and will report to the Coatings & Performance Monomers Communications Leader.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the North America (NAA) integrated communications strategy, in alignment with C&PM’s business growth strategy, marketing and business communications strategies.
  • Lead communications initiatives for NAA to promote priority products and markets with ongoing measurement based on business objectives.
  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor in the region and provide counsel and communications support for senior NAA leadership.
  • Lead proactive media engagement for the region, develop media messaging map and identify and train key spokespeople.
  • Create content development plan for key promotion channels in alignment with C&PM’s global communications strategy.
  • Help lead regional social media strategy and priorities in partnership with the C&PM Digital Communications leader, including organic and paid campaigns channel management, reputation management, measurement and governance.
  • Drives and tracks content performance analytics for regional business activities across relevant sites and platforms (e.g. Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, dow.com).
  • Provide communications counsel and direction to regional commercial teams to enhance promotion effectiveness and drive increased engagement with key audiences.
  • Oversee allocated regional budget and agency management, including agency performance and relationship management, etc.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Prior communications experience.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills

  • Marketing communications experience.
  • Robust knowledge of emerging digital trends, tools, and analytics.
  • Agency management experience.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Experience in a PR agency and/or multinational environment, preferably in a B-to-B industry.
  • Bachelor's/master’s degree in a Communications related discipline.
  • A clear understanding of digital communications and content marketing, along with excellent writing, editing and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with a variety of cultures, functions and businesses and other stakeholder groups along with the skills to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously - prioritizing a diverse range of projects and meeting tight deadlines.
