The opportunity: 

 

Position has primary responsibility for FP&A function supporting the Health and Risk Solutions
Business Unit. Individual will be responsible for managing the overall financial planning, results reporting and supporting analytics/analysis. Individual is responsible for providing financial modeling for business opportunities and initiatives.  Role requires strong collaboration with the H&RS Finance & Actuarial team, the H&RS BU leadership team and the U.S. Central FP&A team

 

How you will contribute: 

 

Responsibilities include:
Manages, analyzes and reports financial results
• Overall responsibility for delivering results reporting and associated analysis of
performance
• Manages development and delivery of financial reporting packages used to
communicate business results including production of including KPI, DOE, MBR & QBR
• Manages development and delivery of monthly financial forecast and early indicators of
results including enhancements to forecasting models and performance trackers
• Develops, delivers and continuously evolves financial dashboards and supporting
financial results analysis to continue to enhance our understanding and communication
of drivers of results
• Coordinates with pricing and valuation teams to analyze and report on financial
profitability of business
• Develops, analyzes & reports on product level financial profitability
• Coordinates with ALM and Capital Management to analyze and explain investment
income and income on capital performance
• Manage BermudaRe relationship including quarterly/annual review meetings, improved
understanding of BermudaRe financials and annual treaty updates
• Support evaluation of other possible structures to reduce capital

Responds to questions from management which may include research, identifying
issues and making recommendations
• Acts as primary liaison with Central FP&A and Controller’s groups on any financial
deliverables and accounting issues
Financial Planning Process for Strategic Plan & Annual Business Plan
• Manages overall financial planning process supporting the Strategic Plan & Annual
Business Plan (and FCT)
• Leads the overall financial modeling work supporting these deliverables
• Responsible for production of all supporting financial plan deliverables including plan
presentations, templates and key metrics/drivers
• Responsible for coordinating the development and delivery with various teams including
BU leadership, HRS expense management, HRS pricing/valuation, ALM and Central
FP&A
• Responds to questions from management which may require additional plan
analysis/adjustments
• Identify opportunities to improve process, associated modeling, and results
communication/reporting
Financial analysis and modeling to support strategic & operational initiatives
• Proactively participates in business unit strategic & operational initiatives providing
financial analysis & insight
• Drives development and delivery of financial analysis and modeling to support evaluation
of  growth  strategies,  key  initiatives,  strategic  pillars,  current  &  future  partnerships,  new
product development, fee-based pricing and M&A opportunities
• Works collaboratively with business to develop, challenge and monitor business
performance assumptions
• Drives and/or participates in special projects, initiatives and analysis as requested based
on business/financial needs
Staff management & development
• Attract, retain and develop top talent within a high performing culture
• Provides objectives, feedback, training, guidance & development of team

  Evaluates performance and provides feedback for growth improvements

Education and Experience:


• FSA/ASA with substantial knowledge and experience in Insurance Industry, knowledge
  of the health insurance industry and/or stop loss products preferred
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, specializing in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science,
  economics or corporate finance
• Experience and expertise in areas including financial modeling, financial reporting,
  valuation and/or pricing

·       Southern California region: 175,300-280,500 annually

·       Central California region: 175,300-280,500 annually

·       Northern California region: 175,300-280,500 annually

If you are a Illinois, Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is 175,300-280,500 annually

 

If you are Washington, Washington D.C., and Rhode Island resident, the salary range for this position is 175,300-280,500 annually

 

If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is 175,300-280,500 annually
