The Senior Enterprise Storage Solutions & DevOps Engineer will be an integral part of the Cloud Technology Services organisation, focusing on building and supporting services to manage storage environments for various on-premises and hybrid cloud solutions at MSD. We are the go-to product team for consultation and support in data management, positioning us at the forefront of technologies that leverage data to deliver impactful results.

Role Overview

Our IT team functions as a strategic business partner, proposing innovative ideas and solutions that drive new capabilities at MSD. We are a global team and collaborate globally to deliver services and solutions, focus on enterprise storage services in Hybrid Cloud Environment, testing new technologies, and providing solution consultancy and recommendations, that enhance productivity and accelerate our ability to drive innovations.

Primary job responsibilities include:

7-10 years of relevant IT technical experience in enterprise storage solutions, cloud providers, and disaster recovery including:

• Traditional On-premises Storage Platforms (File and Block Storage solutions)
• Cloud Service Offerings (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS) in Hybrid Cloud environments
• Disaster recovery process knowledge and hands-on experience.

At least 4-5 years of relevant experience in support and or engineering role, hands-on experience using AWS Cloud, Traditional storage domain, and infrastructure as Code practices, including:

• Enterprise storage solution platforms (e.g., HPE 3PAR, Dell Powermax and Powerscale, NetApp CDOT)
• Excellent knowledge of AWS storage services (FSx, EFS and S3) and deployments
• Very good grasp on AWS Services Route53, VPC, Transient GW, Security Group and IAM Services and security management for deployments
• Experience building solution using AWS Services Lambda, Event Bridge DynamoDB and CloudWatch etc.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies Ansible, CloudFormation, and Terraform is must
• Experience with scripting language such as Python or Unix shell scripts with strong focus towards automation.
• Experience with software solution design and documentation
• Code development using GitHub Tool and Git Code Management Practices
• Experience and knowledge of using GitHub Actions or Jenkins for CI/CD
• Designing and deploying AWS services using solution design and deployment approach
• Ability to articulate the solution requirements, present solution to customers and build solution using automations wherever applicable.
• Experience with developing self-services using ServiceNOW SRM will be an advantage for this role
• Knowing Kubernetes and container orchestration will an advantage
• Proven experience working and supporting Hybrid cloud environments
• Experience delivering products and features using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Nobel9, or similar platforms.

At least 3-5 years of relevant experience focussed on:

• Operational ITIL support processes and managing platform support KPIs
• Supporting enterprise-class storage HW refresh, patching and upgrades, capacity management tasks and participate and handle performance troubleshooting calls.
• Hands-on experience leading storage data-migration projects as technical SME, and handling escalations as SME
• Experience with infrastructure, network, or security issues troubleshooting.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and support on-premises and cloud storage infrastructure technologies as senior product engineer role.
• Connect with internal customers to take requirements and translate them into product features and deliver services aligned to our product offerings.
• Independently identify, evaluate, and engineer technologies within storage services (Block, File, Object) both on-premises and in the cloud (AWS/Azure). Develop, test, document, and transition storage infrastructure to operations.
• Plan and execute proof-of-concept work for new technologies and features, overseeing the entire cycle from idea to acceptance and finally implementation.
• Lead projects with focused on product engineering & support tasks, delivering to timelines, and proactively keep track of progress and aligned to Agile timelines.
• Collaborate with IT Security, IT Compliance, and Cross Product teams to continually drive KPI improvements in support of our hybrid cloud vision.
• Design highly available architectures ensuring services can be consumed as self-service via API/portal by various product/upstream infrastructure teams.
• Contribute to our strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, and support of AWS cloud infrastructure services, including the full lifecycle of technical architecture, infrastructure engineering, and operations.
• Work with IT leadership to identify, develop, and drive long-term strategies and initiatives that streamline the overall IT business model.
• Drive process improvements through new enhancements and using automation technologies supported in company.
• Act as a storage subject matter expert, offering help and advice to colleagues from other product teams and customer application support teams in various divisions.
• Work in a fast paced global environment, adjusting time and work schedules according to demand of projects and be a great team player for team.
• Learning neck for new technologies to keep up with changes in industry and requirements of job role using available resources both internal & external.

We are seeking professionals with the following qualifications, skills and experience:

Education Minimum Requirement: 

· B.Sc. Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

· Relevant certification or completion of equivalent program in areas such as Software Development, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
