ESSC is recruiting a highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to be part of their Advisory team.  The incumbent will contribute to financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting for Canada Segment and clients and support the continuous evolution and delivery of the expense advisory function.
 

1. Support the monthly forecasting cycle by updating templates and collaborating with clients to gather expense/FTE feedback. Understand trends and use appropriate judgement to build forecasts.

2. Prepare month end analysis and commentary on variances, trends and key metrics. 

3. Assist with the annual planning cycle including consolidation of Canada Segment results and building presentations.

4. Prepare Journal Entries with appropriate supporting documentation for approval/releasing.

5. Work with Accounting Operations team to investigate specific spend items and client inquires.

6. Support project and BAU initiative reporting by working with clients to ensure spend has been tagged to projects appropriately.

7. Assist with ongoing analysis of work flow processes and establishment of new procedures

8. Assist with various expense management initiatives as they arise (i.e. tracking cost savings, FTE movement for organizational changes, updating sharepoint access, etc.).

9. Support the Manager in building high performing team by ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service through proactively promoting client centricity.

10. Effectively communicate significant production updates and challenges to the Manager in a timely manner

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education:

  • University graduate in Accounting

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or CMA) is preferred

  • 3 - 5 years progressive experience within finance within a large multi-national, organization

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate with cost centre leads

  • Solid analytical and technical capability - ability to assimilate/summarize a large amount of information from multiple sources and present in a value-added form for senior management

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI), Anaplan and ability to learn new applications quickly

  • Essbase and Lawson knowledge (or other complex GL package) would be an asset.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues within Finance

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse environments and cultures

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast pace, high-performing, and collaborative team environment while managing multiple, constantly changing priorities and ad-hoc requests
