Join our growing outpatient clinic! The Oralmaxillofacial Surgery & Dental Medicine Clinic at the Adult Outpatient Pavilion serves a diverse population and our physicians perform a range of non-surgical and surgical procedures for adults. The Dental Assistant position works hand-in-hand with the OMFS physicians performing procedures and assists our very specialized patients in our Dental Medicine Clinic. Our team is committed to providing outstanding care and delivering an exceptional patient experience. Our clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm and no weekends, nights or holidays are required.

The Dental Assistant works in conjunction with the Clinic Director and Residents in providing good quality dental care in the Dental Medicine and Oral Surgery Outpatient Clinics.

The Dental Assistant assists and provides care to high risk and/or medically compromised patients undergoing procedures and to prepare for and clean up after the procedures.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: 
Certified Dental Assistant by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) preferred 

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: 
Current Dental Assistant Certification preferred 

Experience REQUIRED: 
One year of Dental Assistant experience that included: use of dental terminology, use of dental equipment, chair-side assistance, dental sterilization techniques, setup and break down of dental sterilization areas and treatment rooms, or
A recent graduate of a Dental Assistant training/program.

Experience PREFERRED: N/A 

Education/training REQUIRED:   
High School Diploma or equivalent 

Education/training PREFERRED: 
Radiation Safety Course with certification of successful completion (preferred prior to hire) 
Graduate of an on-site Dental Assistant Training or Dental Assistant Program
