The Health Mission Solutions is seeking a Cloud Solution Architect, contingent upon contract award.

The Cloud Solution Architect will work closely with the Program Manager, and Data Architect, to support multiple public health project teams in their full data management cycle including data ingestion, data cleansing, data transformation, data security, data exploration, and data visualization using Microsoft Azure tools and technologies. The Cloud Solutions Architect will support and guide multiple project teams on cloud application design, cloud resources management and performance monitoring.

The successful candidate will have multiple years of hands-on experience of supporting Commercial Cloud Services with MS Azure backed up by one or more relevant Azure certifications.

Candidates MUST be located in the United States for the current consecutive three years and be eligible to obtain a Public Trust level 5 clearance.

Specific roles & responsibilities for the Cloud Solutions Architect position include but not limited to the following areas:

  • Present and champion cloud architecture improvements with the customer to improve performance and cost: 
    • Evaluate the costs and identify efficiencies of delivering service to the customer.
    • Investigate cloud native technologies to improve performance in support of the customer’s mission.
  • Provide architectural support, guidance, and advice to software development teams on using the Azure cloud services and security.
  • Identify and manage technical risks with respect to the cloud architecture.
  • Respond to customer change requests, in coordination with the Data Architect, to evaluate architectural changes in support of the change.
  • Communicate and enforce architectural guidance, direction, and decisions with technical teams using the Azure cloud platform.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders (Vendors, Customer, etc.) to generate ideas and clarify specifications.
  • Delegate tasks as necessary to the team and maintains accountability for results.
  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyzes.
  • Create and update cloud architecture diagrams and documentation.
  • Identify, evaluate, and demonstrate solutions to complex system problems.
  • Actively participate in all customer software development stage gate reviews including preparation of review materials.
  • Must be a self-starter, strong leader, and have the ability to work independently with little supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 10+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 8+ years or prior relevant experience. Generally has 7+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.

  • Experienced in implementing and overseeing cloud computing strategy, and delivery of cloud solutions.
  • Experienced in cloud deployment, operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Azure Cloud architecture and core services.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing/managing and operationalizing the following technologies, supporting both streaming and batching at enterprise scale:

o            Databricks Delta Lake and Lakehouse

o      Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Storage and Data Warehouse Management,

o            Jupyter Notebooks, SQL, R, Python, Kafka, and Spark.

o            PowerBI, Tableau, RShiny, and Kibana.

o            Azure Active Directory (IAM), Security Center, Azure Key Vault, Azure Defender

  • Experience implementing and supporting Azure DevOps, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Service Bus, and/or Azure Event Grid,
  • Demonstrated understanding of IT infrastructure tools, processes and practices, including Cloud resource provisions, deployment, microservices, and DevOps
  • Solid knowledge on Cloud security and monitoring
  • Team Lead and/or Technical Lead experience
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification

Desired skills and experience:

  • Experience supporting CDC or other federal agencies
  • Demonstrated Cloud deployment models and related experience (Private/Public/Hybrid cloud)
  • Additional relevant Azure or other professional certifications

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
