About the Role
 

The Business Project Manager oversees and leads cross-functional projects, serving as the primary contact for customer accounts or business case projects. In collaboration with leadership, the Project Manager, OPEX CI, ensures the timely and quality delivery of assigned projects and provides support to the manager as needed. The Project Manager, OPEX CI may also be responsible for a small vertical market or integration project. They will work on efforts that are focused on applying rigor in methodologies to structure and implement projects that align with Business Unit plans, customer strategic initiatives, or process improvement efforts. The Project Manager, OPEX CI will assess and improve our LSS program as needed, lead LSS training sessions, and coach/mentor employees seeking Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification in addition to leading training sessions associated with Continuous Improvement.
 

Responsibilities
 

  • Managing all phases of the project per the Product Development Process or Project Lifecycle Process.
  • Delivering assigned projects on schedule aligned with the critical needs of the business vertical or external customer
  • Understanding of key aspects of all projects: Scope, Risk Assessment (time, cost, other), Communication, Stakeholder Management, Procurement, and Integration
  • Constructing the process maps (strategic, work detail, VSM) for the project; demonstrate proficiency in using project management software tools
  • Planning projects should always consider Voice of the Customer and customer self-service opportunities
  • Maintaining ownership of and accountability for the project schedule
  • Documenting the necessary project artifacts, such as schedules and work plans, estimates, issues tracking and status reporting after every meeting, to manage the project lifecycle
  • Managing all relationships necessary for a successful project team
  • Coordinating and facilitating project meetings and negotiates with staffing managers for project resources and other project needs
  • Reviewing of existing Lean Six Sigma Certification program and update the program as needed with engaging and current training materials.
  • Providing guidance to other RISK Solutions Management organizations on project management.
  • Representing Program Management OPEX CI in cross-functional teams within the LexisNexis RISK Solutions organization
  • Ability to travel and manage project development across a geographically diverse engineering organization
  • Identifying and make recommendations for improvement to existing processes and procedures
  • Maintaining knowledge of industry trends and regulations
  • Executing according to Go to Market and SOX guidelines
  • Developing business process documentation and supporting various new initiatives such as business requirements document, process flows diagrams, gap analysis documentation, user acceptance testing criteria and scripts, and data analysis.
  • Communicating and working with Technology to translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
  • Providing project management and coordination for small size projects. Ensure overall project plan effectiveness, address any significant fluctuations, and ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Creating and executing test plans (both manual and automated) based on business requirements.
  • Ensuring ownership and accountability of project
    deliverables.


Requirements
 

  • Bachelor’s degree required or 3-5years of equivalent experience; MBA preferred
  • Have a minimum of 3 years project management experience
  • Technology knowledge- training and experience/ practice of implementing technology-enabled solutions
  • Working towards PMI certification preferred
  • Working towards Agile certification preferred
  • Working towards Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
  • Enterprise Change Management Prosci ADKAR Certification preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across a highly matrixed organization, interacting, influencing, negotiating effectively with all levels of leadership and peers
  • Have successfully demonstrated leadership experience in a fast-paced environment, with frequent and substantial priority changes, challenging timelines and major resource constraints is desired
  • A results-oriented outlook with the ability to prioritize and deliver key initiatives
  • A take-charge and decisive person capable of leading large-scale initiatives
  • Able to conduct training seminars and coach others on Lean Six Sigma Project Management methodologies
  • Have solid documentation and use case writing skills, verbal and written communication with ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Experience with MS Office, and/or project planning software preferred
  • Travel may be required
  • Proficient in all aspects of Lean Six Sigma, Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control phases, of the Lean Six Sigma approach
  • Proficient in all aspects of Agile methodology, Backlog – Analyze – Define – Design – Test – Deploy
  • Proficient in all aspects, identifying, analyzing, tracking, and monitoring, of the Project Management Body of Knowledge
