BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent in an accredited Engineering in Mechanical / Production / Automobile with 12-15 years’ experience and excellent analytical skills. Must have ability to communicate effectively team members and others in the work group, as well as customers and suppliers. Good Understanding of Manufacturing/Engineering systems / Drawings. Critical Competencies - Initiative, Accountability, Communication Skills (Written/Oral), Leading team. 

JOB DUTIES: Projects will usually be Virtual Audit of Engines and systems. Build MBOM sequence creation and validation and reachability/accessibility study of hand tools for assembly process. Should be able to develop best possible Optimal assembly sequence for NPI engines virtually suggesting process changes based on product configuration. Conduct torque audits using 1E specs & drawings in HVC and provide Tooling recommendation. Contribute in process improvements. Ability to lead, plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization and quality to achieve project objectives. Should be able to train and Mentor team members.

Engineers may be required to work in any functional area not limited to, product design, quality, reliability, materials, manufacturing process, application and installation, product performance/support and Project management. 

Key experience required in this role: Knowledge on Virtual Audit, Virtual Build, Team Center Engineering, Vis Mock-up, Reading Engineering drawings, Caterpillar standards and procedures, Manufacturing processes, Assembly tools, Line balancing concepts, Serviceability checks, Ergo validation, Fixture & Test cell validation. Understanding on Works instructions/ Visual aids. Hands on experience in Assembly process Planning tools.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Ability to ramp up quickly within a new environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal, Communication and problem-solving skills

  • Prior working experience in Virtual build, VDRA Projects are preferred.

  •  Knowledge of Caterpillar’s products, suppliers, and customers      

  • Strong fundamental understanding of Engine, Genset and its systems

  •  Hands on experience in Project management and People management

  • Hands on experience Deployment of Process improvements and Lean principles
