We Breathe Life Into Data

At Komodo Health, our mission is to reduce the global burden of disease. And we believe that smarter use of data is essential to this mission. That’s why we built the Healthcare Map — the industry’s largest, most complete, precise view of the U.S. healthcare system — by combining de-identified, real-world patient data with innovative algorithms and decades of clinical experience. The Healthcare Map serves as our foundation for a powerful suite of software applications, helping us answer healthcare’s most complex questions for our partners. Across the healthcare ecosystem, we’re helping our clients unlock critical insights to track detailed patient behaviors and treatment patterns, identify gaps in care, address unmet patient needs, and reduce the global burden of disease.

As we pursue these goals, it remains essential to us that we stay grounded in our values: be awesome, seek growth, deliver “wow,” and enjoy the ride. At Komodo, you will be joining a team of ambitious, supportive Dragons with diverse backgrounds but a shared passion to deliver on our mission to reduce the burden of disease — and enjoy the journey along the way.

The Opportunity at Komodo Health

The Sales Engineering team at Komodo Health partners with the Sales and Account teams to deliver best-in-class technical expertise for Komodo’s Life Sciences and Healthcare data, software, and services-focused customers and partners. This team is instrumental in understanding clients' unique needs and tailoring technical solutions that leverage Komodo’s most sophisticated offerings. By providing technical leadership in the sales process, the Sales Engineering team accelerates growth and ensures that our solutions effectively address customer challenges.

The Sr. Sales Engineer plays a critical role in driving new growth, expansion, and renewal opportunities by acting as a technical expert and trusted advisor to both internal sales teams and external clients. This role exists to bridge the gap between client needs and Komodo’s product offerings, ensuring the successful adoption of our advanced solutions. With a focus on strategic account growth, this role shepherds complex solutions through the internal review process and delivers niche, specialized product support for Komodo’s most advanced and valuable offerings.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have accomplished…

  • Successfully support 5+ new and expansion opportunities, delivering tailored technical solutions that meet customer requirements and accelerate growth.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Komodo’s advanced product portfolio, including data, software, and service offerings.
  • Partner with Sales to increase the renewal rate by providing specialized support and creating a robust technical roadmap for key accounts.
  • Implement a streamlined internal review process for technical proposals to improve speed and efficiency.
  • Establish strong client relationships by providing proactive technical guidance, ensuring long-term satisfaction and growth.

These are the essential job duties you will be responsible for …

  • Serve as the technical counterpart to Sales, providing in-depth product expertise and consultation during the pre-sales, growth, and renewal phases.
  • Customize and configure Komodo’s data and software solutions to align with client-specific needs and drive value.
  • Act as a liaison between Sales, Product, and Engineering, ensuring that client feedback informs product development and enhancements.
  • Conduct solution demonstrations, technical workshops, and proof-of-concept projects to showcase Komodo’s capabilities.
  • Guide solutions through Komodo’s internal review and approval process, working closely with Legal, Compliance, and Product teams to ensure feasibility.
  • Provide ongoing technical support for complex implementations, working with clients to troubleshoot issues and ensure successful solution adoption.
  • Contribute to building reusable technical assets, such as demo environments, integration templates, and best practice guides.

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):

  • 7+ years of experience in a Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Technical Account Management role, preferably in healthcare technology or data services.
  • Expertise in pre-sales and post-sales solution configuration, with a strong ability to translate client needs into technical solutions.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare data ecosystems, standards, and compliance regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Strong proficiency in data integration methods, APIs, and cloud-based architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and collaboration skills, with experience working directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Skilled in project management, capable of managing complex client requirements and balancing multiple priorities

Additional skills and experience we’d prioritize (nice to have)…

  • Technical certifications or training in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Fundamentals).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools, SQL, or data analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Looker).
  • Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce to manage client interactions and engagement.
