RSM’s Center for Advanced Tax Technology (“CATT”) is a fast-paced, high-energy, collaborative environment that also happens to be one of the fastest growing tax practice groups at RSM. The CATT team is focused on enhancing RSM US ability to deliver comprehensive, value-added, and efficient Tax products and services to our clients. It is a dynamic team with professionals of varying backgrounds from tax functional, tax technical, technology development, and product management. The team consults and executes on a wide range of initiatives involving process and tool development and implementation including training development, engagement management, tool design, and implementation.

JOB SUMMARY

As the CATT Operations Controls & Compliance Associate in the Tax Line of Business (LOB) you will be responsible for assisting the Controls & Compliance lead with coordinating and interacting with process and product teams, IT, Data Privacy, Legal, and Office of Risk Management to conduct periodic internal reviews to ensure compliance with internal policies with emphasis on streamlining compliance activities related to ensure obtaining/retaining SOC2 certification(s), and responding to client/vendor security questionnaires/requests. The goal of this role is to drive long-term scalability and sustainability of the business and to leverage external audit reports and professional certifications as a competitive advantage. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of compliance tracking, strong analytic capabilities to assess products, a continuous improvement mindset, and a deep passion for technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Serving as a Trusted Advisor: Understanding of InfoSec policies, Data Privacy, SOC2 Controls, GLBA, 7216, and other statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the accounting and financial services professions; the intent of this is to gain a deep knowledge, which in turn, will help others build knowledge and to eventually be able to help them to understand how these rules impact their process and product development activities.
  • Assisting with Compliance Audits and Reviews: Assist in coordination activities assigned by the Compliance & Controls lead for conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements, identifying and addressing and discrepancies or areas of improvement.
  • Creating and Maintaining Relationships: Serve as a point of contact for process and product teams to encourage them to seek counsel when they have doubts or questions regarding matters related to various firm policies. Also communicates regularly with Compliance & Controls lead regarding any pending remediation plans or issues impacting SOC2 audits.
  • Enhancing Operations Efficiency: Collaborate with the CATT Operations group to identify process inefficiencies, propose solutions, and implement improvements to streamline workflows and enhance overall productivity, which may include assisting with updates to firm systems to ensure transparency and traceability across systems like Configuration Management DB, OneTrust, Workday, etc.
  • Building Knowledge: Focus on improving awareness of CATT Operations, Tax LOB and other relevant processes or control updates or changes.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree (preference given to Accounting, Business, or Technology major).

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 1-3 years of previous experience in operations, project management/coordination, or technology/process delivery, preferably within a CPA firm.
  • Must be capable of dealing confidently and professionally at executive level and with stakeholders.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of software development and IT security, Information Security Risks / Controls.
  • Basic knowledge of metrics, processes, systems, and running a world-wide organization within the enterprise environment supporting large scale IT shops.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

  • Prior experience working within an IT-related security environment with emphasis on controls and risk assessment.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $70,400 - $84,000

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
