Position Summary:

The Sr. Wealth Planning Specialist  provide orientation and support to relationship managers and Private Wealth clients all across LATAM and selected countries of other regions on a variety of issues in connection with international wealth structuring, succession planning, asset protection, business transition and family governance, as well as on trust and private foundation planning.

The Sr. Wealth Planning Specialist reports to the Wealth Planner Sr. Manager

Position Duties / Responsibilities:

• Assess comprehensive wealth structuring plans to meet SPBI clients’ asset protection and cross-generational planning objectives.  Provide guidance, strategies & tactical solutions in int’l estate, trusts, and tax planning.  Provide orientation on domestic (US) and foreign trusts planning; as well as Estate, Gift and Income tax implications of NRAs investments in the US (financial or others).  Analyze civil law rules of selected LATAM countries on inheritance & forced heirship, marital property regime, wealth transfer, family business protocols, and asset protection.   

• Provides training and informational sessions to bankers and bank key personal on tax and wealth structuring/planning

• Handles technical questions and issues from banker and clients, resolve complex tasks and cases, in presentations, meetings, and country visits

• Make complex legal and tax presentations in English and Spanish to HNWIs in coordination with SPBI’s Marketing Dept., in conferences and corporate events.

• Develop, update and analyze ownership schemes (i.e., individual, company, trust, private foundation, segregated fund) used by BPI clients in order to find opportunities for bringing new assets under management, strengthening loyalty ties with the bank, and adding value to the most important relationships for the Group.

• Develop tax-efficient structuring ideas in international vehicles currently linked to BPI in the jurisdictions and / or topics and / or client segments assigned to him.

Other duties as assigned or requested by immediate supervisor

Specialized Knowledge:

• In-depth knowledge of a broad spectrum of international tax structuring, planning issues and appropriate vehicles / alternatives / solutions for high-net-worth individuals and families.

• Experience analyzing Latam legal systems that apply CFC and anti-deferral / anti-avoidance rules; taxation of investment income, wealth tax, gift and inheritance tax, and international tax treaties.  

• Experience developing a tax-efficient portfolio on both traditional and non-traditional investments.

• Experience with international insurance planning strategies.   

• Experience dealing with civil law rules on inheritance & forced heirship, marital property, cross generational wealth transfer, and asset protection.

• Experience with domestic (US) and foreign trusts planning; as well as the Estate, Gift and Income tax implications of NRAs investments in the US (financial or others).

• Experience with domestic (US) inbound portfolio & real estate investment tax planning for HNWI

Education: Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience 

Business Experience: 7-10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated required level of proficiency  

Technical Knowledge:

Tax and legal advanced research skills.  Excel, PPT. 

Licenses / Certifications:

Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (a plus), Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (a plus). Bar admission (a plus)

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

$139,500.00 USD

Maximum:

$200,000.00 USD
