The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Datacenter Marketing Senior Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Partner with R&D/Laboratory and other functional areas to develop realistic business cases that define risks, rewards, and resources needed. Develop effective new product commercialization plans that realize the opportunity in the market as quickly as possible. Consult with business management on financial implications of product decisions and assist in the development of business strategies.
- Collaborate with management to determine priorities, timetables, and assign resources/tasks. Accountable for the activities and results of assigned projects and tasks. Proactively communicate direction and status to appropriate personnel.
- Manage non-routine and difficult inquiries where the solution is not immediately apparent. Problem solving may require conceptual thinking to assess options. Make decisions by applying experience and knowledge of related and non-related precedents, practices and policies to solve significantly different problems.
- Perform complex research and analysis of external and internal data. Identify gaps in market understanding, recommend and implement research solutions.
- Generate insights on customers/end-users and market trends through market research or customer insights utilizing quantitative and qualitative methods. Leverage insights to function as “voice of customer” in business decisions and with all relevant cross-functional teams.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
- Seven (7) years of combined experience in business development, new product commercialization, product management, strategy, consulting, marketing, or project management in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Work experience in the Data Center market
- Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Proven record of analyzing and making recommendations about a wide variety of functional business problems and difficult or complex strategic issues
- Hands-on, action-oriented, self-starter, team-oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong MS PowerPoint and Excel capabilities
Work location: Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to 3M Center, Maplewood at least 3 days per week)
Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $160,284 - $195,903, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
