Our NY1 Expansion Facilities Construction team is looking for an experienced Wastewater Engineers to be a part of the design, construction, commissioning, and sustaining operations for our new innovative manufacturing fab in Clay, New York

The Facilities Wastewater Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for working in a team environment with parallel engineering subject areas, to analyze operational efficiency activities, identify cost effective sustaining and manufacturing improvements and provide design input on projects. This position requires a good understanding of innovative semiconductor process wastewater treatment, waste water reclaim, and zero liquid discharge wastewater plants.

This position works directly with the operations team and technicians monitoring systems parameters via intelligent systems such as SPC/IOT and SCADA, ensuring they are running within specifications. The Facilities Wastewater Engineer must have the pertinent interpersonal skills that enable the coordination with other system owners, maintenance crews and construction trades to drive projects and daily tasks. Will be responsible for working with the vendors to develop operations and maintenance documentation, collaborate with vendors providing services, engineering for projects and changes and ensuring systems are operating within specifications. Provides design engineering support for existing system modification, upgrades and new equipment installations.

Engineering support and oversite of Design, Construction, Commissioning of Ultrapure Water systems including:

  • Review of vendor provided design drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracy
  • Review of equipment configuration and distribution routing of systems relative to functionality, egress, ease of maintenance requirements, constructability, alignment with P&ID's, etc.
  • Validation of engineering calculations
  • Review and approval of equipment and component submittals in coordination with O&M staff
  • Review and validation of construction RFI responses
  • Review and approval of shop drawings and construction models
  • Field engineering QA during construction
  • Entry of system information into a capacity planning software

Safety & Quality:

  • Finishes the required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policies
  • Applies and reviews job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for work being performed
  • Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations including PPE, CoHE (lockout /tagout) and chemical safety
  • Follows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with collaborators
  • Proactively finds opportunities to reduce potential hazards which may impact personnel health and/or the environment
  • Drives quality improvement initiatives in their area to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency and identify cost savings
  • Operates and maintains equipment and tools within manufacturer’s and company guidelines to ensure safety and quality expectations are met
  • Ensures area-specific procedures and documents exist and submits updates to content when needed
  • Understands and implements hazardous energy isolation and lockout/tagout procedures

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Ensures appropriate communication with facilities and manufacturing team members
  • Partners with key collaborators to develop solutions to continuously improve critical metrics
  • Collaborates with global teams and partners to resolve equipment/process issues and improve system stability
  • Communicates changes made to equipment and follows business rules for change control
  • Partners in data collection, gap analysis, and improvement implementation
  • Proactively communicates issues that could cause Fab impact, defects, tool restrictions, or lost moves
  • Coordinates with team members and leaders on issues and changes, and provides regular status updates

Project Management/Planning:

  • Applies a systematic project management methodology to develop, prioritize and lead projects
  • Works closely with Design and Projects teams to ensure work is completed within the required scope, schedule and budget
  • Collaborates with partners on the design and coordination of projects
  • Provides support for the installation or commissioning of new facilities infrastructure including cost and schedule estimates and justification for approval
  • Reviews design packages ensuring specifications are met and cost reduction improvements are identified
  • Supports equipment startup and commissioning
  • Coordinates and leads cost reduction projects

Qualifications:

  • Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and efficiently facilitate meetings and project teams
  • Follows sophisticated procedures, and work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, propose, and implement effective plans to improve overall efficiency
  • Ability to communicate and present technical information to all audiences

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Minimum – Relevant Bachelor’s degree or experience; Chemical, or Environmental engineering, Chemistry, or related field of study
  • Required: Three or more years of relative experience
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in engineering and/or your discipline specific Professional Engineer certification
  • Preferred: Three or more years of Facilities/Plant Operations experience in semiconductor manufacturing

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$99,000.00 - $169,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
