Do work that matters

At CommBank, we’re building a brighter future for all by creating digital experiences that help our customers and communities thrive. Within Business Bank, our eCommerce products support thousands of Australian merchants to onboard faster, accept payments securely, and manage their daily commerce with confidence.

See yourself in our team

Business Bank (BB) supports small to medium businesses, commercial enterprises, and corporate clients across Australia through a growing ecosystem of digital banking and payment solutions.

As a Product Designer in the Business Bank eCommerce team, you’ll help design intuitive, scalable, and secure experiences that enable merchants to join and use our eCommerce capabilities. You’ll work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and fellow Designers in a collaborative, agile environment, contributing to meaningful solutions that solve real customer problems and deliver measurable value.

This role is suited to a Product Designer with strong experience in design fundamentals, and a growth mindset. Cultural fit is important to us, and we’re looking for people who align with CommBank’s values of Care, Courage, and Commitment.

What you’ll do

  • Contribute to the end‑to‑end design of merchant onboarding and in‑life experiences, from discovery through to delivery.

  • Use qualitative and quantitative insights to understand customer needs, identify pain points, and inform design decisions.

  • Design user journeys, task flows, interactions, and interfaces that simplify complex business processes for merchants.

  • Produce and test wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high‑fidelity UI designs using Figma, translating insights into clear, testable solutions.

  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers to frame problems, explore solution options, and support quality delivery.

  • Apply accessibility‑first, evidence‑based design practices, contributing to design critiques, system consistency, and effective risk management.

What you’ll bring

  • Solid experience in human‑centred design, interaction design, and product design.

  • Strong Figma capability across flows, wireframes, UI layouts, and prototyping, including familiarity with AI‑assisted tools.

  • Ability to translate research insights and business requirements into clear, testable design solutions.

  • Experience with usability testing, heuristic reviews, and synthesising customer insights.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and collaborate across disciplines.

  • Experience working in cross‑functional, agile environments.

  • A strong advocacy for accessibility and inclusive design.

  • Experience in payments, eCommerce, or financial services is advantageous.

  • A demonstrated risk mindset, proactively identifying and responding to current and emerging risks.

Why join us?
