Department Description:
Sony Pictures Releasing is the studio's theatrical distribution group and is responsible for the release of feature films from Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, Screen Gems, Sony Pictures Animation, Sony Pictures International Productions, and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions to cinemas around the world.
Responsibilities:
Analyze datasets from multiple internal database systems to generate market insights.
Support Sales and Planning Strategy initiatives with quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Provide ongoing analytical support to the global theatrical sales team.
Monitor and report on global release dates and box-office performance.
Contribute to ad hoc research projects and presentations as needed.
Qualifications:
Must currently be enrolled in school or university during the duration of the internship
Knowledge of, and passion for, the film business (including interest in international markets)
Strong analytical skills and experience working with data (including Excel and database management)
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
Interest in international markets
Flexibility and ability to prioritize and re-prioritize in fluid situations
Proven track record of meeting deadlines and working under tight constraints
Strong interpersonal skills
