Our internship program is designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, as well as individuals seeking to deepen their education through immersive, professional experience in the entertainment industry. 

 

Department Description:  

Sony Pictures Releasing is the studio's theatrical distribution group and is responsible for the release of feature films from Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, Screen Gems, Sony Pictures Animation, Sony Pictures International Productions, and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions to cinemas around the world. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Analyze datasets from multiple internal database systems to generate market insights. 

  • Support Sales and Planning Strategy initiatives with quantitative and qualitative analysis. 

  • Provide ongoing analytical support to the global theatrical sales team. 

  • Monitor and report on global release dates and box-office performance. 

  • Contribute to ad hoc research projects and presentations as needed. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Must currently be enrolled in school or university during the duration of the internship 

  • Knowledge of, and passion for, the film business (including interest in international markets) 

  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with data (including Excel and database management) 

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines 

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Interest in international markets 

  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize and re-prioritize in fluid situations 

  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and working under tight constraints 

  • Strong interpersonal skills 

 

The anticipated base salary for this position is $19/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
