Our Platform and Systems Engineering Team is seeking an experienced Lab and Prototyping Technician in our dynamic Garage team. You will play a key role in building and testing innovative electronic and mechanical prototypes, pushing the boundaries of cutting-edge technology. You will collaborate with engineers to transform ideas into functional prototypes that support the development of next-generation products. The team works cross-functionally to advance applications in areas including biotech, renewable energy, autonomous systems, automotive, and many more types of intelligent edge systems.
Assemble, solder, and rework both through-hole and SMT components based on schematics and technical documentation.
Work with engineers to test, debug, and validate new electronic designs through measurements and experiments.
Collaborate with PCB subcontractors to manage complex, high-volume circuit board assembly.
Operate and maintain the Prototype Machine Shop, including 3D Printers, Laser Cutters, CNC machines, and hand tools.
Assist in integrating mechanical components and electronics into fully functional systems per design specifications.
Organize and maintain the Electronics and Prototype Labs, ensuring efficient operations.
Manage inventory, track supplies, and procure materials needed for prototype development.
Associate degree or equivalent with 2+ years of relevant experience.
Basic understanding of electronics schematics and technical documents.
Electronics PCB assembly and rework, including fine-pitch SMT components.
Experience with mechanical drawings and blueprints.
A passion for hands-on problem-solving and tinkering.
Experience with PCB design tools and/or CAD software.
Familiarity with power tools and precision equipment.
