An advocate for Agile mindsets, behaviors and processes, the Agile Coach is responsible for helping teams perform by instilling an Agile mindset and methodology through coaching, improving team processes and championing continuous improvement.

The Agile Coach has a deep understanding of the organization and team processes and adds new value with broader perspective of having seen other teams go through the same transition before.

This role should also consider broader process improvements. Ensuring the teams have a strong Agile Coach in position to embed best working practices and carry culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Champion implementations of Agile standard methodologies across teams, and at Enterprise level, and partnering with counterparts globally, with high level of collaboration
  • Guide teams to develop OKRs (Objectives & Key Result) to ensure product alignment to business priorities.
  • Support continuous improvement of methods and incorporate them into day-to-day work of the teams.
  • Promote self-organization, collaboration, and improved team dynamics.
  • Advocate for the right, not the easy solution.
  • Remove and/ or appropriately bring up impediments to the team to enable business value delivery.
  • Launch new teams, setup result delivery processes (e.g., facilitate workshops, trainings, help teams to define the cadence)
  • Provide guidance on Agile practices for the organization, including creating training materials and other tools.
  • Identify challenges and opportunities for teams and key roles (e.g., Product Owner, Chapter Lead, Scrum Master, Tech Lead, Senior Tech Lead, Senior Product Owner) and generate a tailored coaching plan for each to help them on their journey.
  • Identify and communicate solutions, behavior changes, mentality shifts required for team members and key roles and provide 1:1 coaching as needed, and to be available when teams are onsite to collaborate, and when teams work remote.
  • Identify tools, trainings or additional resources individuals should use to build on their opportunity areas as part of their coaching plan.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years related work experience with progressive responsibility required.
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Process improvement certification preferred. Ability to obtain certification within 1 year period required.
