We are looking for an Buyer Senior Staff to join our team in Costa Rica. As a uniquely qualified candidate, you will be responsible for production planning and inventory control for multiple products while prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay. This individual will take a lead role in continuous improvement, product flow and capacity improvement to improve the overall efficiency of manufacturing while service level targets.
SUMMARY: Responsible for procuring raw materials, OEM components, capital equipment, tooling, supplies and services, to ensure customer service level, while achieving the targeted company objectives. They are also responsible to strike an optimal balance between cost, quality, delivery and service in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Buyer is responsible to thoroughly understand the commodities and/or projects they support, to give the organization a competitive advantage and evaluate suppliers’ capabilities, negotiate and administer contracts as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Materials Administration: Generates, adjusts and expedites purchase orders based on requirements which may come from MRP, project teams or other internal customers; Generates buy action based on authorized spending amount; Coordinates with internal customers to maintain optimal service levels and determine the proper priorities for material support; Tracks and monitors purchase orders, keeping informed of any problems/delays and communicates any impacts/constraints to the Planner, manufacturing manager/supervisor or other discipline impacted by the change; Supports material needs for the product development process to ensure Confluent competitive strategy; Generates on-going cost savings and maintains competitive cost in all disciplines; Participates on project teams for sourcing material; Responsible to mentor Buyer I, II levels as necessary; Manages the most complex commodities, projects, and/or responsibilities; Displays leadership by initiating change ideas and driving implementation.
Supplier Management: Monitors and communicates quality and delivery performance to the supplier; Ensures sourcing for projects early in their phases; Obtains bids to promote a competitive environment (locates, interviews, analyzes and evaluates vendor capabilities to select suppliers, partners with these suppliers to maximize company funds.); Responsible to resolve supplier related problems (works closely with suppliers to assure a positive and professional relationship, always establishing and maintaining open lines of communication.); Maintains awareness of market trends pertaining to their responsibility.
Total Quality: Adheres to FDA, BSI requirements; Reviews raw material document change orders; Maintains accurate purchasing master data, AVL, etc.; Interfaces with Engineering, Planning, and Quality to ensure timely throughput and proper prioritization of materials received.
Inventory Management: Manages the most complex, high impact or high financial risk commodities, projects and/or responsibilities; Formulates purchasing decisions to achieve internal customer service, targeted inventory turns and least total cost material procurement; Identifies expired, excess and obsolete materials and dispositions the material appropriately.
Supplier Relationship Management: Co-manage the supplier relations along with Procurement Manager to ensure business continuity and strategic development of the vendors portfolio.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor degree in industrial engineering, business administration or related educational background with 6-8 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master degree optional.
Candidate must have advanced english level.
Medical industry experience required.
Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet and graphics.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to work in a self-managed work team environment. Ability to work different work schedules.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

A seasoned, experienced professional with wide-ranging experience and expertise in a specialized field. Uses in-depth knowledge of business unit functions and cross group dependencies/relationships. Is recognized as an expert in the work group.

Serves as a consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, projects, or objectives. Uses diplomacy and tact to diffuse high tension situations, particularly with senior level internal and external contacts. Occasionally escalates the most serious issues to manager.
