Coil Machine Setup Operator 
Immediate opportunities are available for talented Coil Machine Setup Operator who want to become part of the Johnson Controls team. Coil Machine Setup Operators set up any of the following equipment: fin press, expander and hairpin tubing press. They are responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining coil processing machinery to ensure efficient and accurate production of coil-based products. This role involves ensuring machines are properly calibrated, troubleshooting issues, monitoring production, and ensuring product quality standards are met. The operator must follow safety guidelines, perform routine maintenance, and maintain records of machine settings and production output.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Read, communicate and understand Operational Method Sheets (OMS) job instructions, handles material to and from workstation and gets workstation and equipment ready for production.  

  • Sets up and operates the fin press, expander press, hairpin tubing press.  

  • Determines the need for tool and die care.  

  • Performs necessary maintenance, maintains quality standards, reports material shortages, keeps workstation in order.  

  • Performs first and last part inspections of parts against OMS and/or specification. 

 
What We Look For: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training is a plus). 

  • Previous experience as a machine operator or in a manufacturing environment. 

  • Knowledge of coil processing machinery and production techniques. 

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and production specifications. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude. 

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to lift and move heavy steel materials (up to 50 lbs or more). 

  • Ability to stand, bend, stair climb, and work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods (8+ hours).
