In this role, as the Process Operator at our Sarina refinery, you will also get to be part of a team of highly motivated professionals, supporting our 85,000 barrel per day operation that produces gasoline, kerosene, jet and diesel fuels, asphalt and petrochemical feedstock.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completion of TSSA 4A and 4B exams
  • Proven mechanical aptitude to perform the hands-on operation of plant equipment
  • A College Technical Diploma, preferably in Chemical or Power Engineering Technology
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of people, environment and equipment through the application of refinery policies, practices and procedures
  • Learn and become competent in all operating units within the assigned Plant of the facility and progress in increasing levels of responsibility at the site
  • Report and appropriately flag all equipment plant-related issues beyond your scope to your leader
  • Complete routine operational tasks, maintain an operator log and communicate significant changes or findings in a timely manner
  • Provide direction and oversee maintenance and contract personnel as required
  • Maintain housekeeping at a high level to ensure a safe work environment

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway
  • The shift schedule is a 12-hour rotation of days and nights (three on, three off)
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • You will be required to adhere to our clean-shaven policy and perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
  • You will be subject to a six-month probationary period and represented by the Sarnia employees' bargaining association (SEBA) upon completion of your probationary period
