Job Description

Summary of Position

NRECA’s communications and marketing department shapes our external, internal and member communications and marketing efforts. We work to tell the modern electric cooperative story, positively influence the perception of cooperatives with inside-the-beltway policymakers, elevate the organization’s brand and showcase the value of NRECA membership. Collaboration, creativity, and passion drive the team to consistently achieve success and help build a better tomorrow for electric cooperatives across the nation.

We are looking for a dynamic and creative Senior Marketing Manager who can independently develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies and integrated campaigns to achieve revenue and utilization goals. Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute marketing strategies and campaigns that position NRECA programs, products, and services as integral resources for members.
  • Recommend best practices and improvements to or new development of association products, services, and processes.
  • Collaborate and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders across departments to develop marketing strategies and implement processes.
  • Develop original, creative, and effective written and visual content for marketing materials including, email promotions, social media content, videos, case studies, fact sheets, promotional literature, advertisements, and direct mail.
  • Lead special communication projects which involve the development of creative concepts, management of production timelines, collaboration with creative services on design, coordination with executive leadership and other stakeholders to propose, gather, write and edit original content and distribute and promote the final product.
  • Analyze metrics to track effectiveness of marketing efforts (web performance, email, direct mail response, participation rates) in achieving revenue goals.
  • Responsible for the creation and management of marketing budgets for NRECA programs, products and services targeting designated audiences.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Skills  

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or a related field.
  • 7+ years marketing or advertising experience managing integrated marketing campaigns in a large organization.
  • Experience in event, product and service marketing.
  • Experience leveraging diverse marketing channels (print, digital, social) to drive results across segmented target groups. 
  • Ability to generate ideas in an energetic environment and create materials that engage and persuade.
  • Ability to prioritize, work quickly, and manage multiple projects, timelines and deadlines as well as be adaptable and flexible in a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience working with various systems and strategies impacting the marketing function, including website content management, email marketing, basic graphic design, marketing analytics and segmentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, across a diverse range of audiences, demonstrating proficiency of English grammar rules and editing processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent judgment and strategic planning skills.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
