Position Summary

The BP&A Manager Clean Products West of is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and analysis to support strategic decisions and operational efficiency in support of the Clean Products West Division.  This position plays a prominent role in partnership with the commercial trading function to explain financial and commercial performance.  The Manager will regularly interface with Clean Products managers and staff, as well as personnel in the BP&A / Controllers organizations.

Key responsibilities include analysis of results, developing monthly forecasts and the annual business plan, providing insightful financial analysis, and helping drive business performance through effective use of financial and commercial data.

This position demands meticulous attention to detail and a firm commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in every facet of the role, from data analysis to process optimization and reporting.  This position will be based in San Antonio, TX.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides detailed operational and financial performance insights for Clean Products West Division highlighting areas for improved performance, identifying opportunities to add incremental value and enabling better decision making. Bridge indicative operational P&Ls to GAAP financial P&Ls.
  • Tracks real-time operational and market indicators that provide insights into the current period financial performance; bridges current conditions to anticipated financial results.
  • Accountable for monthly and annual financial planning processes. Leverages monthly/annual operating plans to efficiently create a flexible financial forecast with a high degree of automation. Assimilates large amounts of data utilizing modern digital tools and processes. Financializes operating plans.
  • Acts as a liaison between Clean Products and the Finance/IT organizations to ensure that financial and accounting related activities and services are aligned with the needs of the organization.
  • Develops and maintains a high-performing BP&A team. Sets goals and direction for the team that align with MPC strategic pillars and objectives and monitors performance to accomplish organizational goals. Creates a formal development program to increase the team’s business acumen and analytical skills. Allocates time to coaching and developing team members.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline required. Masters, CPA, or MBA preferred.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Proficiency in PowerBI preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Products
