The Digital Modernization Sector has an exciting career opportunity for an Infrastructure Team Lead to support the USAF Defensive Cyber Systems Program Management Office’s Infrastructure Section at Joint Base San Antonio. This role is integral to overseeing the Systems Integration Lab (SIL), Service Desk, Cloud Services, Platform System Security, CI/CD Pipelines, and facilities, ensuring the efficient and secure operation of critical infrastructure components.

On-Site Requirement: The position requires on-site presence at Joint Base San Antonio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Infrastructure Section Chief by guiding, instructing, and coaching team members. Delegate tasks effectively and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Oversee the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of on-prem and cloud compute and network systems, such as LANs, WANs, intranets, extranets, high-performance virtual systems, etc.
  • Identify issues, develop solutions, and direct resolution efforts to maintain system integrity and operational continuity.
  • Stay current with technology trends, assessing their relevance, and sharing insights with the team.
  • Monitor the development, test, and production environments to ensure optimal performance, addressing capacity issues as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan to safeguard IT infrastructure and support continuity.
  • Supervise Leidos employees and oversee the work of subcontractor personnel, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure effective performance and mission alignment.
  • Prepare and communicate budgetary requirements to maintain hardware and software assets effectively.
  • Establish and promote industry best practices, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and optimize resources.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 6+ years of experience. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g., Security+).
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Extensive knowledge of network architecture, server management, virtualization, cloud computing, and data center operations.
  • Proficiency in managing large-scale IT projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Advanced skills in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Strong grounding in cybersecurity practices, including firewall, VPN, and encryption protocols, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to work effectively with team members, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Proven leadership skills to manage and inspire a diverse IT team, creating a positive and productive work environment.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM for virtual environment management.
  • U.S. Citizenship required with an active DoD Secret clearance and eligibility to obtain TS/SCI.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud services from AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices and best practices.
  • Background in DevOps, continuous integration tools, and source control.
  • Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for project management and team collaboration.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
