This Senior Engineer - Excavator systems development role in Caterpillar’s Excavation Division (EXD) is focused on delivering machine control system and the control logic for future excavators. Since the team has a lot of cross functional capability, work with multiple design team related to control systems. Also, this position should approach every project with innovative mindset.

Job Duties:

• Create NTI projects for machine control systems and effectively demonstrate their benefits.
• Research technological trends in industries not only construction machine but also automotive, electronics. And develop applicable technologies to excavators. Also develop new suppliers can be collaborate with us. Those include hydraulic /automotive /electric parts suppliers.
• Provide improvement idea to optimize machine control systems from field data analysis.
• Perform concept study, H/W and control logic design for advanced test, advanced test and the validation.
• Collaborate with Advanced Engineering Team, Power System Division, Hydraulic Design Division, and so on.

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge and experience of mechanical engineering
• Basic knowledge of excavator control systems

Desired Qualifications:

• Logical thinking
• Experience with development tools (either Matlab, Simlink, Dynasty, Creo, DATK, Canape and Python)
