About the Role

Join us as Head of Portfolio Solutions at AIA Investment Management!

The main objectives of this position are to run and oversee AIA IM efforts and delivery of our investment services, solutions, and performance in the following key areas:

• Derivatives: oversee and provide leadership to the group derivative center of excellence (DCOE) to 1) establish a strong strategic platform to drive 2) the BAU implementation of various hedging programs for clients and portfolios in Investment Management 3) provide consultation to regional Line Business Units (LBUs)

• Total Fund Management (TFM) which handles the multi asset ILPs for the LBUs. To develop a strong investment platform to support our performance delivery on these products to the LBUs working closely with the ILP product marketing team in IM

• System rollout: working with the project team, coordinate and support the investment teams on the rollout to ensure the business gets the optimal use of the new system.

You will drive people management and leadership development for these teams and also work seamlessly with Group Investment, Business Units and AIAIM to achieve its objectives and handle communications.

What you will do:

  • Work hand-in-hand with the Team Heads for Derivative and TFM to manage and construct appropriate investment solutions to meet the client’s overall risk and return targets. 
  • Provide regular analysis and assessment of the Derivatives and TFM portfolio, including regular manager review, where needed to develop tools and reports to manage risk and performance.
  • Build research expertise and in conjunction with the IM Head of MO to develop analytical tools to support decision making
  • Be both a great teammate and a coach/mentor for the other members.

What you will need to be successful:

  • At least 20 years of investment experience with large complex multi asset funds such as pension and insurance funds at both the top-down directive construction and setting level as well as the bottom-up portfolio implementation.
  • Strong expertise in all aspect of derivatives, multi asset investing demonstrated by a well-defined and consistent investment process, with a good track record of investment performance.
  • Excellent technical proficiency, understanding of investment strategies and their implications, as well as implementation and value enhancement strategies in the physical, fund and derivative markets.
  • Strong system and operational understanding across all aspects of multi asset investments with experience in transition management, derivative hedging, tactical trading and risk mitigation overlays.
  • Experience working with or in an Insurance AMCO.
  • Excellent interpersonal and engagement skills
