Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The Walmart Marketplace is a curated community of respected, professional sellers who offer only top-quality, authentic products and best-in-class customer service.

You will be responsible for recruiting and launching our next generation of Marketplace sellers. You will work closely with the category seller growth teams to assess market opportunities + competitive trends and develop acquisition strategies to attract new accounts, expand assortment and increase inventory.  You will manage the E2E business development lifecycle from sourcing to transactability – ensuring our new sellers are fully equipped for immediate success. What you’ll do…

  • Focus on the process of finding new business prospects and new markets by identifying new potential markets for selling products, developing new profit and revenue streams, and developing lists of potential prospects.
  • Drive business growth by developing and maintaining internal and external business relationships; understanding and managing the mutual value propositions, risks, and benefits; and supporting engagement and dialogue with stakeholders to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and realize value proposition and subsequent business objectives.
  • Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.
  • Influence and drive the overall sales strategy to ensure highest valuation by directing sales and the management of key accounts; negotiating and purchasing any sub primal need that is not met with internal supply chain; managing outside purchases needed to meet specifications and procurement guidelines; ensuring partners deliver on agreed contractual terms; and overseeing the exception approval process.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.
  • Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.
  • Ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost- effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

What you’ll bring…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or related field and 3 years’ experience in business development, market development, product development, or relevant area OR 5 years’ experience in business development, market development, product development, or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing or related field .
  • 3 years’ supervisory experience.
  • 2 years’ experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • 2 years’ experience in sales in the Collectibles space
