Tech Finance is responsible for the provision of financial control, reporting and planning services to the Technology division. We work closely with our stakeholders to help them understand their cost bases and deliver current and future strategic and financial plans.

Technology Finance’s mission is to “influence strategic outcomes through transparent insights and passionate people”.

Your team forms part of the wider Technology Finance Team of approximately 90 people and provides financial management, planning and controls services to Group and Business Unit CIOs.

Technology Finance’s primary role is to:

  • Provide insights, analysis and advice in relation to past and future financial performance
  • Provide robust financial control and effective management reporting
  • Provide decision support and reporting for Technology strategic initiatives and investment programs
  • Develop and deliver meaningful insights to drive better business outcomes, including cost optimisation and simplification
  • Provide guidance and advice to the business leaders on the financial performance of the business, the financial plans and forecasts and the financial impacts of change initiatives

Do work that matters

Your role is to support the Executive Manager, and the Technology Finance Leadership Team with providing robust financial control and risk advice. This includes partnering closely with finance and risk colleagues and leaders to strengthen financial controls, enhancing the risk culture and embedding the Bank’s risk frameworks across the broader team, and facilitating the execution of Technology Finance’s strategic initiatives.

As well as, but not limited to:

  • Leading and managing the Learning Operations Hub team, ensuring they are engaged, productive, and aligned with the organisation’s goals
  • Developing and implementing operational frameworks, standards, and guidelines for all learning-related activities.
  • Collaborating with Learning product owners and other HR professionals to ensure the seamless delivery of learning programs.
  • Managing the teams budget, resources, and vendor relationships, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives within the hub, leveraging data and feedback to optimise processes.
  • Facilitating the resolution of conflicts or challenges that may arise within the team or with stakeholders.

We’re interested in hearing from people who possess

  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with a focus on driving productivity and operational excellence.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with broader organizational goals.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify challenges, develop innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Deep understanding of learning operations and program delivery
  • Experience in leading change management efforts, particularly in setting up new teams or functions within an organisation.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in Agile principles with proven experience operating in a matrixed organisation highly desirable.
  • Experience Required:
    • 5+ years of experience in a learning and development or HR operations role, with a strong focus on process optimization and productivity.
    • Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing teams.
    • Experience in setting up or optimising operational functions within a large organisation.
    • Strong background in strategic planning and execution, particularly in a learning or HR context.
    • Experience with learning management systems and other relevant technologies
