Committed to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, we are seeking a talented and detail-oriented ESG Data & Reporting Analyst to join our team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to our ESG performance measurement and reporting efforts, shaping our company's sustainable future.
As an ESG Data & Reporting Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting ESG-related data to support our sustainability initiatives and enhance transparency and accountability. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate data collection and reporting, monitor and adopt industry standards and best practices, and drive continuous improvement in our ESG performance.

Financial Perspective

Data Collection and Management: Collect, validate, and analyse ESG data from various internal and external sources, including operational metrics, environmental performance indicators, and social impact assessments.

Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze ESG data to identify trends, strengths, weaknesses, risks and opportunities for improvement, providing insights to inform strategic decision-making and target setting.

ESG Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely reports on ESG performance, including annual sustainability reports, board and EXCO reports, Glencore Group reports, regulatory reports, ESG disclosures, and responses to investor inquiries, ensuring compliance with relevant ESG frameworks, standards and regulations.

ESG Strategy Support: Support the development and implementation of ESG strategies and initiatives, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to advance our sustainability goals to enhance stakeholder value.

Risk Management: Identify potential and emerging  ESG related risks and work with relevant departments to develop mitigation strategies. Actively participate in the Risk Assessment (eg. Climate Change RA, Biodiversity, etc)and development of mitigation strategies. Track and drive performance against these mitigations.

Customer Perspective

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including sustainability, finance, operations, Gelcore Group, sales and marketing and investor relations teams, to gather input, align priorities, and address data-related and ESG performance queries or concerns.

ESG Ratings and Rankings: Monitor and report on ESG ratings agencies, industry benchmarks, and investor evaluations, ensuring our company's ESG performance is accurately represented and positively perceived.

Business Excellence

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance data collection processes, streamline reporting workflows, and strengthen ESG performance metrics, driving efficiency and effectiveness in our sustainability efforts.

Industry Benchmarking: Conduct benchmarking studies and peer comparisons to assess our company's ESG performance relative to industry peers and best-in-class organizations, identifying areas for improvement and innovation.

Glencore Group: Work with the Glencore Group to ensure that ESG processes and procedures are aligned to Group standards, defining deviations from standard where applicable. Ensure reporting and representation of the company ESG performance aligns to Glencore Group guidelines and targets

People Management

Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across the business to ensure effective gathering and reporting of ESG data.

Culture: Foster a culture of sustainability and responsible business practices throughout the organization.

Professional Qualification and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in sustainability, environmental science, finance, business, or a related field.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ESG data management, sustainability reporting, or corporate social responsibility (CSR), preferably within the petrochemical or energy industry.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Strong understanding of ESG principles, frameworks, and reporting standards (e.g. TCFD, GRI, SASB), as well as relevant industry guidelines and regulations.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, Power BI, or sustainability management platforms, with the ability to manipulate large datasets and generate actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to translate complex ESG data into clear and compelling narratives for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail in data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Understanding of the industry specific ESG issues and challenges
