About the Finance Department and Role

Finance is the guardian of Bridgewater’s financial resources. We seek to drive sustainable shareholder value by controlling, safeguarding, and optimizing use of the firm’s financial resources. The department provides strategic partnership, insights, and independent challenge along with the delivery of high-quality financial reporting, forecasting and analysis while maintaining effective and efficient operational control.

Finance Associates on the Corporate Finance and Investor Relations team support these goals in a variety of ways to our Senior Leadership and investors of Bridgewater. This includes developing and using financial analytics to inform Senior Leaders on Bridgewater’s financial health, risk, and opportunities. This can also include responsibility for supporting our stakeholders’ financial needs, managing earnings distributions, reporting and analysis, and excellent customer service for the owners of Bridgewater entities. The Finance Associate also will take on complex projects ranging on matters such as balance sheet, capital structure, valuation, revenue analytics and expense management.

You will drive responsibilities such as:

  • Partner with leadership to creatively solve some of the firm's biggest analytical challenges – such as valuation, structuring unique complex transactions, compensation strategy, and other board and leadership level initiatives.

  • Responsible for and prepare calculation of earnings for shareholders and metrics related to individual investments.
  • Maintain our internal document management system for Bridgewater’s stakeholders, including investor agreements, stock purchase agreements, subscription agreements, etc.
  • Provide actionable information and insight (e.g. deliverables, reports, presentations, slide decks) to drive measurable impact and management decisions. Own outputs from end-to-end, from inception, through creative problem-solving and analysis, development of complex financial models, scenario analysis, and communication to stakeholders.
  • Tackle cross-functional initiatives, partnering with accounting, FP&A, tax, and leaders in the business to drive solutions to complex challenges.
  • Drive systemization efforts to build out new analytical capabilities and identify efficiencies throughout the finance organization.

You will be a click for the role if you:

  • Have a hunger to leverage financial analytics to tell and shape the business story. Experience forming well synthesized, structured recommendations from financial information and communicating with leadership creating summaries and presentations to communicate financial information or other data effectively.
  • Are an independent thinker. At the same time, have an eagerness and curiosity to learn about financial concepts and their business implications from experienced leaders in the space.
