Job Summary:

The Network L3 Support Engineer is responsible for the provisioning, deployment, and ongoing operations and maintenance of all managed network services customers and internal customers. This role involves managing and maintaining the network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment. The L3 Support Engineer will work closely with the Network Operations team to ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of the network.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide third-level support for network-related incidents and service requests.

· Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including hardware and software problems.

· Monitor network performance and ensure optimal operation.

· Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

· Participate in the design and implementation of network projects and upgrades.

· Conduct root cause analysis for network outages and implement preventive measures.

· Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues and ensure seamless service delivery.

· Maintain network documentation, including topology diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.

· Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining security protocols and policies.

· Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network engineers and support staff.

· Stay current with new technologies and industry trends to enhance network performance and security.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS).

· Experience with network hardware and software from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet.

· Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios).

· Strong understanding of network security practices and technologies (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).

· Meraki switching/Meraki wireless

· Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine)

· Advanced understanding in network design.

· Strong communication skills.

· Ability to convey technical requirements and concepts, commensurate to one’s level, to technical and non-technical clients and corporate audience.

· Excellent written and oral communications, problem solving and process management skills.

· Ability to work well within a team environment in a matrixed organization.

· Interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization. 

Working Conditions:

· This is a hybrid position, requiring three days on-site and two days remote.

· This position may require occasional evening and weekend work to perform maintenance or resolve critical issues.

· On-call support may be required as part of a rotation schedule.

 

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, computer science, or related field is preferred

Experience: Experience in Network Data with Security basics.

Proposed Years of Experience: 8+ years

Certifications:

· Certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent is highly desirable.

· Knowledge of ITIL processes and practices.
