Job Description Summary:

Provides basic nursing care to patients under the direction and supervision of Registered Nurses (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN). Coordinates care with other disciplines. This position serves adult, geriatric and pediatric populations.

Qualifications:

  • Must employ tact, diplomacy and compassion with all types of people.
  • Must use good judgment, apply a high degree of integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times. 
  • Possess an understanding of the confidentiality laws that govern the provider-patient relationship, including but not limited to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Delivers basic patient care under the guidance and direction of the RN/LPN to safely meet the needs of the patient(s) for assigned area(s). 
  • Communicates with the RN/LPN in an effort to coordinate workloads and patient priorities.
  • Performs accurate CNA assessment while taking patient’s vital signs. Informs the RN/LPN assigned to the patient of any abnormal vital signs and/or changes in the patient’s condition.
  • Maintains patient privacy as defined by Logan Health policies and procedures.
  • Assists patient with activities of daily living such as ambulation, transferring to a chair, eating, grooming, etc.  Monitors patients’ activity to prevent harm.
  • Documents in a timely and efficient manner the care rendered to the patient as defined by Logan Health policy and procedures.
  • Assists the RN/LPN in maintaining unit function by restocking of rooms and supply areas.
  • Maintains equipment in patient care rooms for safety and cleanliness.
  • Assists the RN/LPN with maintaining compliance with Medicare and all applicable regulatory standards.
  • Works with the RN/LPNs to set and maintain priorities for patient care tasks.
  • Adheres to and upholds all organizational customer service policies and standards while caring for patients, their families and interacting with co-workers and physicians

Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

Night Shift - 12 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
