This role offers a hybrid work schedule; offering the flexibility to work remotely two days a week, while providing the opportunity for in-person collaboration at our Buffalo, NY Tech Hub.

Overview:

Leads and supports high priority projects and key initiatives across Strategic Operations, directly supporting the Strategy and Observability team. This includes stakeholder engagement and management, project planning and outcomes delivery, system and process management, routines and ceremonies management, and end to end management of applicable assets and resources related to assigned initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports high priority projects across Strategic Operations, directly supporting Strategy and Observability. Specifically, the Org Management 2.0 Implementation and adjacent ceremonies and routines owned by the org.

  • Helps to develop project plans, forecasts, and schedules in partnership with other project leads and Strategic Operations leadership team.

  • Works directly with stakeholders to manage project requirements and supports working through constraints and areas of opportunity to support project deliverables.

  • Hosts engagement sessions and meetings to communicate project plans to affected parties to ensure a common understanding, set expectations and align stakeholders to common goals and outcomes.

  • Ensures execution of tasks defined in the project plan to achieve the project goals. Execute all parts of the project plan, which may include supporting the management the budget/forecast and closely monitors project progress, signaling potential roadblocks.

  • Implement solutions, approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate project risk events and works closely with Strategic Operations leadership team to ensure alternative plans are executed as needed.

  • Improve project team performance by building team cohesiveness, leading, mentoring, training, and motivating to facilitate cooperation, ensure project efficiency and boost morale.

  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), helping to inform scope of work on critical project and key initiatives across Strategic Operations, which may include coaching and mentoring of more junior team members.

  • Helps to refine and evolve critical ceremonies, routines, and programs across technology to create measurable progress towards target, future state.

  • May devote 2-4 hours weekly consulting on programs and initiatives with shared outcomes and adjacent to Strategy and Observability in the Talent and Engagement orgs of Strategic Operations.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years’ proven project management experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 8 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 4 years’ project management experience.

Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent software packages.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $85,104.04 - $141,840.07 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
