Our world-class internship

Our NatWest Markets Amsterdam internship offers placements within the Trading or Climate & ESG Capital Markets team.

In Trading, our teams price and manage risks associated with FX & Interest Rate instruments, analyse market trends and engage in market making, and execute trades in the broker market. As an intern on this team, you’ll work across multiple trading desks with a strong focus on Rates Trading. You’ll help with all day-to-day activities and accelerate your understanding of risks, pricing, clients and market behaviour.

If you join our Customer Sales team, you’ll be supporting our Rates in Amsterdam. These teams service our clients across Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Nordics.

Our colleagues in Climate & ESG Capital Markets research and update clients on sustainable finance developments, maintain pitchbook and database materials, analyse and benchmark client’s ESG strategies. As an intern on this team, you’ll work on a variety of sustainability data structuring and analysis projects, contribute to reporting and prepare client materials.

Internship responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Assessing market trends and provide quantitative data for clients
• Performing market and qualitative research analysis
• Assisting in educating clients about structures and ESG-related market trends

Entry requirements

To be eligible for our NatWest Markets Amsterdam internship, you’ll need:

• To be in your penultimate year of university
• To be on course to achieving a degree classification of 3.0 or 7 in ideally a Finance, Economics, Business Administration or STEM related degree.
• A study agreement with a Dutch university or business school
• A strong desire to develop your financial analysis and modelling capability
• To understand and be passionate about sustainable finance instruments, market dynamics and the trading of financial products
• A basic understanding of debt capital market concepts
• Good time management skills
• A customer-first approach
