Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sentinel Command and Launch (C&L) Segment Lab Operations and Development Manager 3.  This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What Youll Get To Do: 

This position, for C&L Segment Lab Operations and Development, will be responsible to the Command and Launch (C&L) Integration and Test (I&T) Director for stand up and operations of the C&L-System Integration Labs (CSIL), along with all related lab development, design/analysis, and automation.  As the senior manager over two high-performing teams - Lab Operations and Lab Design & Automation, the successful candidate will manage the design, development, and implementation of new lab capabilities, in addition to the planning, operations and maintenance of the CSIL.  This role ensures time-certain availability of all CSIL labs for safe and effective testing to include technical excellence, compliance and efficiency.

The position requires technical knowledge of various systems, design, development, implementation, and testing with a strong foundation in laboratory integration and test.  The selected candidate will be accountable for the earned value cost, schedule performance, and technical performance of the test lab scope of work and must act with speed, guide others in producing quality work, be self-motivated, and have the ability to communicate complex technical issues and solutions.  A successful track record of program performance, and test experience is required. This is a down-and-in focused position with up-and-out visibility.

• Manage two multi-discipline teams of mid-level managers, engineers, test conductors, system administrators and technicians to ensure timely, fully-supportive lab operations as well as lab development and design.

Specific duties include, but not limited to:

  • A primary focus on lab procedures automation, to remove the “human in the loop” to gain schedule, cost, and remove human error

  • Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements

  • Manage cost, schedule, and technical performance as the Control Account Manager (Earned Value Manager) for these efforts. Develop schedules and budgets, and manage performance against the cost, schedule, and technical baseline.

  • Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost, schedule, risk, and supportability/effectiveness analyses for systems

  • Develop, plan, and coordinate CSIL-related activities in a dynamic people-focused environment

  • Advising discipline managers and exempt employees, helping them meet established schedules and resolving technical or operational problems

  • Understanding test requirements, developing test plans and procedures, and executing the supporting Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) test and certification effort

  • Supporting and interfacing with the customer in Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and Integration Readiness Reviews (IRRs)

  • Supporting the design and development of requirements verification decisions within the system architecture in coordination with systems engineering and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)

  • Overseeing the performance, progression, and mentoring of I&T engineers, managing personnel and direct activities required to accomplish the statement of work

  • Facilitating and owning the risk management process and review board for test execution

  • Accomplishing results through subordinate supervisors and exempt specialist employees

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

Youll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors Degree; 6 years with a Masters

  • US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification

  • Minimum of 3 years in a formal lead/management position

  • Experience in managing system integration labs

  • 1 year of experience as a control account manager (CAM)

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • US Citizenship with an Active Top-Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.

  • Experience in managing large-scale system integration labs

  • 2 years of experience as a control account manager (CAM) managing Discrete, LOE, and Material work packages

  • Experience standing up a lab environment

  • Knowledge of configuration management best practices

  • Experience test automation

  • Previous experience with: ICBMs, Agile, DOORS, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo

Salary Range: $141,900.00 - $212,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
