This position is strongly preferred to be based in Santa Fe, NM but consideration will be given to remote candidates (with required travel), provided that the candidate resides in one of the following markets:   Santa Fe, NM; New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA. In-person work is critical to the creative practice at Meow Wolf and invaluable to the culture of our creative teams.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $176,085 to $248,280.  Compensation is based on location and experience.  This position is also eligible for a bonus of up to 25% of base salary.  Bonuses are not guaranteed and depend on the successful achievement of pre-determined company and individual performance goals.

Job Summary:

In collaboration with and reporting into the Chief Creative Strategy Officer, the SVP, Brand Creative Services exists to level-up the ingenuity and impact of Meow Wolf’s marketing campaigns, content and experiences as our multiverse expands and our business rapidly grows, This is a new, mission-critical SVP
role within the Creative Studio at one of the fastest-growing arts and entertainment companies on earth, with a rare, uniquely established brand positioning that disrupts the norms of multiple industries including media and attractions.

This is an expansive, creative position that requires a multidisciplinary approach: visionary leader, brand strategist, big idea thinker, creative craftsperson and community-builder, to name a few areas where your leadership must excel. This role will oversee the multidisciplinary creative team that makes the work that drives traffic to our ticketed exhibitions and engages our fans of today. In addition, they will partner with individuals and teams across the organization to help enable more integrated, inherently marketable brand narratives and experiences to attract our fans of tomorrow. Together, you will mine the tension between the weird and wonderful, and the need to drive the business.

The ideal candidate has deep and wide-ranging knowledge of marketing, brand creative, modern media and the methods by which great work gets made. They have a passion for art and storytelling matched with an unapologetic focus on marketing impact, and the ability to navigate and motivate a non-traditional
creative culture. They are a respected, connected, creative individual known for their inspiring, optimistic leadership style, groundbreaking work and creative problem-solving skills - and they want to advance their career in the exciting unknowns of the Meow Wolf multiverse. How you will do it:

  • Be an undeniable force behind the one-of-a-kind Meow Wolf brand and how it shows up in culture, driving our creative strategy and execution across paid, owned and earned media platforms, including advertising, activations, social, digital and more.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Meow Wolf brand and be a thoughtful partner to the SVP, Brand Creative. Enroll the SVP in all relevant projects, seeking their input, insight and guidance on brand critical work.
  • Be an earnest student of our history and how it affects its guests and fans, balanced with a visionary point of view to shape the future.
  • Create content that drives demand for the Meow Wolf brand and visitation to our exhibitions using comms formats including: video, photography, print, social/digital, website, email, editorial, the Meow Wolf app and new media platforms (eg, gaming) — a vast majority of which is done in-house.
  • Directly manage and train-up our internal Creative team (ie, CDs, writers and designers/art directors) as well as the Social Media team (ie, social media managers and makers). Grow this team by attracting diverse, next gen creative talent across all forms of modern communication design.
  • Push our limits creatively, setting new standards for creative excellence and effectiveness as our company evolves and scales. In tandem, bring strategy, insights and impact into the heart of our creative conversations, further illuminating the exciting overlap of art and commerce.
  • In collaboration with Marketing Creative Directors and informed by other Meow Wolf creative leaders, cultivate a [dare we say iconic?] brand voice, visual style and other ‘signatures’ of Meow Wolf’s marketing to build equity and supercharge brand familiarity as the experiential category continues to explode.
  • Be a partner to the leaders responsible for growing our Social community, support making Meow Wolf a TikTok darling, and in ways yet to be defined, innovate how we show up online for fans and intersect with pop/internet culture.
  • Model curiosity and passion about our audience, participants and fans and what they really want from us. Use insight to empower more meaningful campaigns and marketing opportunities.
  • As an integral part of Meow Wolf’s Creative Studio, you will partner across the creative strategy and innovation teams that drive new blue-sky opportunities including new exhibition concepts, product formats and Next Gen Storytelling - to ensure our experience remains as relevant and marketable to our audience as possible. Similarly, work with Sustainment Creative Directors to push innovation within existing exhibitions.
  • Collaborate with our VP Marketing Operations to optimize our internal creative processes as well as build a bench of world-class external partners.
  • Occasionally, be the best client ever! When we enlist outside creative agencies, exhibit a level of intention, care and respectful creative collaboration that could only come from inside Meow Wolf.
  • Seek out new marketing channels and business partnerships that will help grow the Meow Wolf brand and sharpen our point of view in our industries, and in unexpected corners of culture.
  • Proactively keep up with current trends and events in marketing, media, technology, the arts and relevant creative industries, fueling your POV on our brand, customer and how we go to market - Do things that earn press coverage, win awards and get the world buzzing about us!
