A Day in the Life

In this exciting role as a Sr Clinical Reporting Program Analyst, you will have primary responsibility to support the department on all reporting needs to enable crisp execution of global cross-functional clinical studies / projects on time and on budget. This role will require less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

This role requires partnering with all team members to standardize and enhance analysis and reporting tools for both study management and operations management.  This position is within the Clinical Research and Medical Science (CRMS) Operations PMO Team supporting the Structural Heart & Aortic Operating Unit.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Plans, performs and implements process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma).
  • Diagrams and evaluates existing processes.
  • Organizes, leads and facilitates cross-functional project teams.
  • Develops metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities.
  • Collects data to identify root cause of problems.
  • Measures performance against process requirements.
  • Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls.
  • Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality.
  • May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement and control.
  • Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques and processes.
  • Communicates team progress.
  • Performs cost and benefit analyses.

Additional Responsibilities include

  • Develops and maintains reports/dashboards and systems to support decision making, drive efficient operations and effectively monitor study, program and portfolio performance
  • Maintain and enhance existing reports
  • Streamline reports through automation where possible
  • Support management reporting in the form of daily/weekly/monthly management reports
  • Support Projects with reporting needs
  • Develop processes around reporting to ensure good data integrity

Must Have (Minimum Requirements):

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 4 years of reporting/data analysis experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of reporting/data analysis experience

Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Internal Medtronic employees with report requirements definition & development skills, and experience in Clinical Research highly preferred.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, or similar data visualization tools, and the use of SQL/DAX queries to extract information from databases for reporting
  • Advanced user of Medtronic’s Clinical Development Analytics (CDA) experience or similar clinical database
  • Smartsheet design and development experience
  • Familiarity with Siebel CTMS (Clinical Trial Management System), and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems (Oracle Clinical, RAVE)
  • Experienced Microsoft Office user, Advanced Excel including knowledge of macros and pivot tables, Power Automate,
  • Familiarity with CoPilot and AI/GPT tools
  • Excellent program/project management and organization/communication skills.
  • Experience working across a highly matrixed environment, with strong accountability and a proven ability to lead by influence.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$86,400.00 - $129,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
