How you will make a difference: 

Safeguard Global is looking for an Compliance Specialist located in APAC (India/ Vietnam/Philippines ), to join its internationally diverse Corporate Risk & Compliance team.
The job is to support in executing the Annual Compliance Plan & monitoring Compliance program under the direction and supervision of Senior Manager Compliance. As a part of the job, the professional is involved in developing policies and strategies and implementing them in a timely manner. Being a compliance associate, the job requires performing periodic audits and designing control systems that augment the efficiency within the framework of the internal regulations and policies.

  • Manage and implement AML policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements & ensure Compliance. Conduct regular risk assessments and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Actively participate in AML & KYC audits. Prepare necessary documentation, assist in the audit process, and implement recommendations for compliance improvement.
  • Support Sales & Onboarding team as escalation point to Conduct thorough and detailed KYC verification and ensure accurate collection and analysis of client information for new clients and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Reporting suspicious activity to the relevant authorities. Collaborating with law enforcement and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Provide training on AML and KYC laws and regulations to staff.
  • Participating in a collaborative manner in cross-functional business teams to identify, evaluate, and resolve complex compliance issues and process improvements.
  • Collaborate and work alongside a senior compliance manager, to develop policies that adhere to the laws and regulations
  • Monitor the applicable laws, stay on top of the dynamic laws and regulations, and make changes to the system as and when required 
  • Regularly assess the efficiency of control systems and recommend effective improvements.
  • Carry out investigations/audits to find gaps in the current policies, which involve compliance, and rectify them as per the regulatory guidelines
  • Provide support to senior compliance officers in organizing, designing, and delivering compliance training.
  • Develop and implement a local compliance communication plan to help keep compliance top of mind.
  • Research, gather data, and complete an analysis of compliance matters under the supervision of senior compliance officers.

What will make you stand out:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business administration, or a similar discipline (B.B.A, M.Com., C.S., LLB, Compliance certifications)
  • A minimum of 5 years experience (5-8 Years) as a Compliance Specialist or similar position.
  • Proficiency in industry trends, laws, and regulations
  • Analytical mindset with excellent organizational skills
  • Experience in Internal Auditing/ Secretarial function. 
  • Exposure to Supporting and monitoring of compliance projects
  • Experience across three or more industry sectors or multi-national/global coverage.
  • Proven ability to deal tactfully and confidently in a high-demand and fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn new areas of compliance, acquire new skills, and take on additional and/or new responsibilities on an “as needed” basis
