Job Description

Manages scientific communications for brands/brand portfolios. Work includes leveraging technical expertise to build brands through best-in-class scientific communications, influencer marketing, and media and customer engagement. Responsible for multiple brands, single market, or cluster.

Position Overview:  The Senior Manager, Scientific Communications leads compelling insight-driven science communication for key brands in partnership with R&D, brand comms leaders, in-house creatives, and relevant external agencies.  The successful candidate will design and deliver against an expert claims and credentials strategy, influence product benefit visualization, and support in/external activations executed by the newly formed Beauty Ecosystem. This role crafts science stories that translate technical innovations into content that specific relevant audiences can easily digest (ex – influencers, press, doctors) to increase awareness of P&G Beauty science and to influence preference for priority P&G Beauty brands.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead scientific communication. Design science stories and deliver expert claims and credentials strategy to support big bets and demonstrate product superiority. Partner with R&D and brand to influence external facing product benefit visuals like demos and creative assets that close the sale with customers and press. Leverage science to drive category growth. Design and deliver against strategies to overcome consumer trial barriers for key initiatives. Integrate science in go-to-market and amplification plans in partnership with marketing, public relations, influencer, and creative teams. Leverage science to earn credentials. Engage with press to introduce new innovations, ensure impactful pitches, earn editorial coverage, deliver paid and branded content, and win editorial awards. Support Beauty Ecosystem internal local activations like key stakeholder lab visits and external national events like dermatology and gynecology conferences.

  • Experience leading, managing or executing events or activations

  • Experience leading, managing or executing social media campaigns or content

  • Role requires traveling to conferences and events, sometimes weekends

Optional Qualifications (not Mandatory)

- PhD level scientist preferred

- Experience in Beauty Care preferred

- Experience in partnering with vendors/agencies

- Public relations agency, social media agency or event management agency experience
