OVERVIEW:
Service & Selling:
Serves as the ambassador for the brand by creating authentic relationships with explorers, guides, vendors and partners in service of our brand mission and product offering.
Interacts and relates well with diverse audiences and possesses excellent interpersonal skills
Leverages tools, reports and insights to make appropriate business adaptations that result in increased sales and service for their areas of responsibility including but not limited to driving increase Overall Satisfaction scores for the store.
Drives sales through all channels by maximizing selling behaviors. Capitalizes on all promotional events through successful event execution and staff excitement
Deep rooted understanding and/or ability to learn/understand the specific needs of the explorer as it relates to a customized shopping experience, expectations of technical servicing and/or education requirements for the internal guides and external explorers
Community Outreach & Education:
Owns and overseas all event processes for the entire Public Lands retail store including vendor partnerships, events, explorer activation, internal marketing and/or training events
Owns partnership with leadership teams to ensure department guide participation in education and community events are compliant with expectation and needs of the area in which they work
Partners with other ASM’s to ensure floor/space for specific events are coordinated to meet the needs of the vendor and/or planned training event
Engage with local organizations, advocacy groups and public sector by demonstrating activism and commitment to expand access to the outdoors and protect local green spaces. Work closely with the Community Manager to celebrate our local communities and public lands through oversight of instore community activation, events and volunteer opportunities.
Assist the General Manager in engaging with local and national vendors to expand the reach and mission of the Public Lands brand. Engage with key stakeholders while in the store environment.
Prioritizes and encourages discussion and training that focus on environmental issues, public lands protection and opening the outdoors to all to maintain and continue the development of all guides and explorers
Works with General Manager to organize and run new hire orientation, product training and brand education.
Local Market Product:
Assist and educate explorers on locally sourced and sustainable focused food and wellness solutions offered in the store while providing advice on how to incorporate these solutions into their everyday life
Demonstrate ability to genuinely interact with explorers showing passion, knowledge, dedication, and commitment in their wellbeing and health with the ability to accurately communicate product information and benefits to our explorers
Continued enhancement of product knowledge by learning the background, sourcing, and production techniques, as well as the features, advantages, and benefits of the brands/products we carry while staying on top of industry related trends
Build brand awareness and loyalty in the community by developing meaningful relationships within the local foods/farms, juicers, and health communities by participating in events and creating unique in-store experiences for the explorer
Schedule and host in-store events/seminars ensuring a safe and memorable experience for the explorer
Manage & Develop Talent:
Build a high performing team. Provide direct/indirect reports with timely and regular feedback to support teammate development, growth in role and job satisfaction. Recognize and reward good performance and address poor performance.
Drive the talent selection process in alignment with the company’s talent philosophy for all open positions; this includes reviewing resumes, interviewing and making hiring decisions. Ensure all hires are appropriately trained and on-boarded.
Demonstrate a high level of passion and commitment to enhancing the overall teammate experience by displaying integrity, inclusion and empowering direct/indirect reports to be their best.
