This role is responsible for managing and optimizing the entire production value stream, from raw material intake to finished product shipping. They work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. The role requires a deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Production hours are Monday to Thursday 5pm to 3:30am

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

Duties Responsible:

  • Lead and coordinate activities across the value stream, ensuring the smooth flow of materials, information, and processes. Collaborate with various departments to meet production goals.

  • Implement and sustain Lean principles and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.

  • Identify areas of waste and develop strategies for waste reduction.

  • Develop and execute production plans, ensuring efficient resource allocation, production schedules, and on-time delivery of products.

  • Establish and maintain quality control and assurance processes to meet or exceed product quality standards.

  • Address and resolve quality issues in a timely manner. Supervise, coach, and develop a team of production supervisors, operators, and support staff.

  • Ensure they are properly trained and motivated to meet production targets.

  • Monitor and manage the production budget to control costs effectively.

  • Seek cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.

  • Ensure that safety protocols and compliance with regulatory requirements are consistently upheld.

  • Implement and maintain safety programs and initiatives. Manage inventory levels to align with production needs and avoid overstock or stockouts.

  • Analyze production data, key performance indicators (KPIs), and other metrics to drive data-driven decision-making and process improvements.

  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Ensure timely deliveries and minimize disruptions.

Required Skills and Abilities:

The ideal candidate must possess the following

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Manufacturing, Operations Management) or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and relevant software tools.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance in manufacturing.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Six Sigma certification or similar process improvement certifications.
  • Familiarity with production scheduling and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
  • Experience with change management and project management.
