This role will involve 20-30% travel. Join us at our mHUB-based offices in Chicago for a hybrid work environment. Our work schedule is flexible, but in-office 3 days per week is expected when not traveling.

Overview

Associate Project Manager (APM) to join our Project Management efforts on Marmon’s corporate Automation Support Team. The APM will support, and increasingly own projects moving through the Marmon Automation Process (MAP), identify and drive improvements in the process, help to administer our Project Tracker database, and as well as drive training initiatives.


The APM will work directly with a senior PM for all activities.


This is a hybrid role based out of our innovation office at mHUB near downtown Chicago.  Qualified applicants will reside in the Chicago metro area.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, track, and close MAP project work‑streams—scope, schedule, budget, and risk
  • Maintain our project Tracker (data quality, dashboards, user permissions) and develop quick insights for leadership
  • Identify workflow bottlenecks and lead CI efforts; maintain stage‑gate template library
  • Create status reports and dashboards in PowerBI; present progress to cross‑functional stakeholders
  • Develop short guides/videos and provide mentoring to others on training initiative and PM tools

Qualifications

Must‑Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or related field
  • 1‑3 years’ internship or professional experience in project management, operations, or process improvement
  • Working knowledge of PM S/W (MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.)
  • Experience turning data into actionable insights
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Preferred:

  • Some Project Management or Lean Certification (ex. CAPM, PMP, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher, etc.)
  • Experience developing digital learning content or implementing process improvement across and organization

Pay Range:

53,333.60 - 80,000.40
