Lumentum is looking for Solution Software System Engineer (Test) Co-op to participate in the development of software for a new generation of disruptive metrology products and participate in creating a lean and agile development culture.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement testing strategies for integrated software and hardware systems.
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
  • Perform manual testing as needed to validate hardware and software interactions.
  • Collaborate with software and hardware teams to understand product requirements and specifications.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs and issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Develop and maintain testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance product quality.

Education:

  • Working to complete a Bachelor or Master program in Engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in software and hardware integrated testing.
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Experience with manual testing techniques and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Familiarity with hardware testing tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Assets:

  • Previous coop experience.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
