Summer Intern - Software Operations Engineer

 

As a software operations engineer intern, you will be part of a team dedicated to monitoring the operation and performance of our software solutions, focusing on application performance monitoring tools and solutions providing alerting and incident reporting. Working on a team that addresses operational challenges creatively and efficiently, you will learn to think outside the box, implement scalable solutions, and follow best practices in both software operations and security.

 

*This role is remote work eligible with work location in Indiana.*

 

What You Will Do:  

  • Deepen your understanding of cloud application performance monitoring and support tooling
  • Participate in monitoring and maintaining the reliability and performance of our software systems.
  • Work with software developers to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Participate in an Agile environment to understand key Agile principles 
  • Obtain the experience to create a foundation for growth and future opportunities with Allegion
     

What You Need to Succeed:  

  • Pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline, e.g. Computer Science, Software Engineering. 
  • Junior and Senior applicants preferred
  • Understanding of basic programming techniques 
  • Resiliency and ability to adapt quickly. 
  • An inquisitive nature that seeks to understand concepts and principles about software and the Allegion business practices 
  • Effective listening, time management and creative problem-solving techniques  
  • A desire to learn, grow and develop by working on projects that will impact Allegion’s business and customers
  • This role is flexible and will allow for remote work opportunities. Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in Indiana or open to relocating to Indiana.
