Position Overview:
Natera is looking for an experienced and strategic Sr. Product Manager / Associate Director of Product Management to lead the development and commercialization of our Altera™ tumor genomic profiling product line. In this highly visible and dynamic role, you will drive the entire product lifecycle, from prioritizing new features and programs to developing a strategic roadmap and enhancing product performance. Your work will directly impact patient care by providing innovative oncology solutions to healthcare providers and stakeholders.

This role requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, ensuring that our products deliver maximum value in the competitive oncology space.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Strategy & Roadmap Development
  • Develop and execute the product roadmap for the Altera tumor genomic profiling product line.
  • Prioritize new features and initiatives, balancing customer needs and operational constraints.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Molecular Biology R&D, Software Engineering, Sales & Marketing, Clinical/Medical, Operations, Regulatory, and Business Development, to ensure successful product execution.
  1. Product Performance & Improvement
  • Oversee product performance, identify key metrics, and collaborate with teams to drive continuous improvement strategies.
  • Analyze performance data, develop actionable insights, and implement changes to improve product quality, efficiency, and market competitiveness.
  1. Market Research & Customer Insights
  • Conduct Voice of Customer (VOC) interviews, market research, and competitive analysis to inform product development and support growth.
  • Leverage market insights to validate new features, enhance customer satisfaction, and ensure product-market fit.
  1. Business Case Development
  • Identify new business opportunities and create financial models to support product initiatives and strategic investments.
  • Develop comprehensive business cases that align with company objectives and present data-driven strategies to senior leadership for alignment and buy-in.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
  • Collaborate with Marketing to define product positioning, develop market launch strategies, and create compelling marketing collateral.
  • Communicate the product vision, progress, and roadmap updates regularly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration between departments to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields (Master’s or PhD preferred).
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in product management, product marketing, commercialization, or strategic consulting.
  • Experience with oncology products, diagnostics, or medical devices, particularly in molecular testing or somatic biomarker testing, is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading product management initiatives in the life sciences or biotech industry.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and influence cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals.
  • In-depth understanding of core technologies and the ability to translate customer needs into compelling value propositions.
  • Exceptional project and process management abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic financial modeling skills and the ability to develop business cases are a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong analytical skills for data-informed decision-making and identifying market opportunities.

 

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
