Financial Data Analyst – Business Intelligence Developer Overview

This role is responsible for the development of operational data reporting, data engineering, and the development of data sets and data tools including data extracts, reports, and dashboards. This role will be responsible for proactively developing, testing, and maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical environments within various business functions in support of the GEICO’s operational data reporting. As a member of an agile team, the developer assists with testing, validation, user acceptance testing, deployment, and post-implementation support. This includes writing code that builds datasets, metrics, and data needed for our business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Create SQL stored procedures, advanced queries, debugging, and optimization.

  • Rewrite SAS code into SSIS Packages and Power BI, including SSIS debugging.

  • Design, update, and maintain relational databases. 

  • Develop process automation and ETL solutions.

  • Maintain and support daily data refresh procedures

  • Perform and automate daily maintenance processes.

  • Creates and prepare data sets for reporting and dashboards.

  • Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize new and existing processes.

  • Assist with data and database migrations, testing, and validation.

  • Create MS SQL Server procedures and batch jobs to extract, transform and load data

  • Develop and test reports and data extracts

  • Adhere to development standards and software change management procedures

  • Assist with proposing new data strategies and methods to enhance and advance the data environment

  • Assist with project and time management, including estimates and status reporting.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and advanced performance tuning functions

  • Design and implement data models and database architectures to support client projects and initiatives

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of data engineering solutions

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Must be able to multi-task

  • Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information

  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

  • Must have the following experience:

  • Relevant work experience of 5+ years (preferred)

  • In office Hybrid work requirement: In office 3 days per week (required)

Annual Salary

$76,000.00 - $138,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
